I am currently trying to coordinate a date with SAPAR to remove the brush piles we have at McClain. They would bring the trucks and we can load them up with maybe some community service workers helping. We also need to get stumps cut/grinded down. We need the course looking great for the Bud Open in June. We will need everyones help at the upcoming workdays. Let's do our part!
Stay tuned for scheduled workdays.
Here is an update with the mowing schedule at McClain. The contractor WILL NOT mow the grass until the tree stumps are grinded down. They have very expensive equipment and the stumps tear them up really bad. I have been talking with the SAPAR Contact and a work order was generated to have the city grind all stumps on the fairways. He was talking like this project was going to be started very soon. I haven't been "bugging" them but I have been calling alot and explaining to them how it was last year. I also told them about our minis and there's alot of people playing that course. Keep you fingers crossed. We'll see what happens. I'll keep everyone updated.

Guess what I just found out?
SAPAR is going to contract out the stump grinding at McClain with a projected start date of next Wednesday. :) They would like us to paint the stumps before then if possible. I told them that I will hand out paint cans (SAPAR is supplying) at the Saturday mini. We also need to paint arrows pointing to the next hole. If you are not playing World Doubles this weekend, please come out and play the mini and help the course as you play. If you have some marking paint bring it, we want to have enough. See ya'll Saturday.
Does anyone have a map of the course? I gave the one I had to the contractors but they have been through 3 supervisors and cannot locate it. They get lost out there.
