I'm very excited to announce that Madison will have a new disc golf pro shop - glide. One of its missions is to become the premiere disc golf pro shop in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Many of you may recognize the name glide from the disc golf clothing line created by Madison's Derek Wagener in 2001. Derek and I are relaunching the glide line so keep an eye out for great new stuff at the pro shop and online. A website is currently under construction. I'll post an announcement when it's up and running for everyone's viewing pleasure. The pro shop will be located across the street from Hiestand Park at 4222 Milwaukee St. For those of you who remember A Disc's Throw, glide will be located in the same unit. A soft opening is planned for mid April with a grand opening to coincide with Hiestand's baskets going back in after the Spring thaw - around May 1st. The website's launch will be around the the same time. More information will follow. We're very excited about becoming an integral part of Madison's already great disc golf scene.

Glide officially opens its doors tomorrow (Friday, 4/25). The pro shop will open at 11:00 on weekdays and noon on weekends.

I was directed to Glide yesterday by a person I was working with while visiting Madison. Mike proved very helpful and, when I was reluctant to jump in and play league when I hadn't ever played the course across the street, was kind enough to direct me to Token Creek (writing down directions and even offering me a card in case I got lost and needed to call). I had a fabulous time, the course was great, and I highly recommend Glide for their customer service. (And I bought a pretty cool hat, too.)
