Hello I have a quick question.
An unseen dog takes disc and runs 300ft and drops it.

The other day in my town's weekly singles we had a situation come up that really tweaked my mind. Basically to some it up a guy in my group threw a big overhand drive that landed basically 80ft left of the pin. The pin was placed in a little clearing with heavy trees left and right of the pin so we didn't see the disc come down. As we all walked up to make our second shot we couldn't find his disc. We all looked up to see if it was stuck in the tree and he said "i bet it was that **** little dog that took my disc." We all thought he was bs because no one saw a dog so we all started laughing and gave him crap about a ninja dog in the woods taking peoples disc. Well sure enough we found his disc 300ft to the left with bite marks / saliva still on the disc. We were all laughing extremely loud that a few groups behind us told us to pipe it down. So what is the ruling here. Does he have to play the disc as it stands or does he get to take the disc where we thought it might have landed?
