Just working on some designs for the Ironwood. Thought I'd post them. This one will have a better PFDS logo in the middle, this is just all I had on the computer that I am on.

Yes, I like that too. I want to set a date of 01-23-08 to submit all logo ideas for the IO. I would like to get some discs made to sell before hand. So if any one has an idea please submit asap. Please post the logo to this db. That way we can see the reactions of our members that use it.

I also approve of Chris's design. It reminds me of the boardwalk at Ocean City.
How many years has the Ironwood been going on?

I prefer the first logo over the second, but..... anyway I think they will be super sweet looking on discs. I'm working on a few more for fun also.

Hey Chris, let me know when you've chosen the final design. I might have the first glass trophy for the IO and I would like to have this engraved into it. I do prefer the first one... and it should work quite well with my photo transfer process.

well hopefully Sid uses this design. I think it's pretty sweet and should print up well. Not sure how large it should be though?? full size, or smaller and off centered?

smaller and off centered would be my preference.

Allright... here's the deal. We are doing the first tests of replicating a Tee-Rex in glass. It's not very easy... the angles are presenting some trouble, but I have no doubt that we will have one within the next two weeks. I am also going to make a mold for mini's.
Now, I can definately transfer any of those images to the surface of the disc just like a stamp. It will however, require the following:
1) I know which image to use
2) That Chris open a dialogue with me soon about the image, because I need to change up one thing in order to make the photo mask successfully.
After that, and the execution of the piece, I will post a photo of it. And hopefully we will have the first trophy of bad-assey proportion.

thus, my reg. is in the mail too.
Anyone gonna camp if it's nice outside? I dont WANT to drive an hour each way both days and would be down with a Team Yinzer campground if anyone else was interested.
From the Moraine State Park DCNR website:
Camping: The North Country National Scenic Trail shelter off of Link Road is available for backpackers on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Camping is available at nearby private campgrounds. Information on nearby campgrounds is available at the park office.
Organized Group Tenting: There are two camping areas available for organized groups, Muskrat Cove and Five Points camps. These primitive camps have picnic tables, cooking grills and water, but no showers. Advance reservations are required.

Isn't the one campground right next to Moraine a sponsor? I can't remember the name of it...Nevermind it's Bear Run Campground.
Are they still a sponsor of the course?
jmc2442
Mar 13 2008, 10:29 AM
i think Bear Run is still a tee sponsor or something
.
If it's crappy or cold or windy or anyway else "Gotcher" like outside I wont do it, however, if it's an awesome spring weekend (cross your fingers) I think it may be camping time.
I did get a sweet shack up offer yesterday though :D

Consider looking to see if they have any cabins available at the park. We rented one a couple years back....sleeps like 10 or so, heated...really nice. I know you have to book a year in advance for summer or fall season...not sure about April.

All of these destroyers are sold!!! More to be listed this week.
Also, Jeff, I believe the registration is updated for all of the people who have paid.
And do you really think there will be 4 advanced grandmasters? Seriously now, I don't think in the 13 years I have played the PFDO we have ever had an advanced grandmasters division. Why wouldn't you just play intermediate.
And oh yeah....no quitting on the last hole like you did at the hunt!! That's pretty lame.

April 13th work day? Is that still on, just happened to see it on the calendar. What would need to be done?
gotcha
Apr 04 2008, 10:17 AM
General clean up and course prep. There's a lot of tree branches down on 12 and 13, so I'm sure we'll spend some time working on those two holes. 12 b-pin will be used for the first time in a tournament, thus, we need to focus on readying that green, too. Rope inspection is needed on holes 2 and 18 to ensure the OB rope is visible and intact. Also, we're going to change the color of the "drop zone" rope on hole 18. We'll leave the yellow rope along the creek, however, we will mark the drop-zone OB section with a different color.

Apr 07 2008, 01:53 AM
I got a chance to get out and help but not on the work day, if you got a bit more specific I could just get it done. I have some bright orange marker paint to clearly mark the drop zone. Rope on 2? I don't remember there being one. The drainage tube running along is ob but what if a disc falls between the tube and earth?>is that ob? 12 b green? Isn't that the one on the left-tucked down in a little depression? What has to be done there?
gotcha
Apr 08 2008, 08:36 AM
Josh....don't worry about the paint for the drop zone or anywhere else. We'll take care of that.
As for hole 2, there should be rope defining the OB creek where the drainage tube stops. A section of the tube has washed down the hill, so rope is needed to clearly mark the OB line. The rope continues on down the creekside. We'll take care of the rope on this hole as well.
If you want to help out with some course prep, clearing/dragging fallen branches on holes 12, 13 and 18 is something that definitely needs to be done prior to the event. Thanks for volunteering....we can use all the help we can get. :)

Thanks for holding my hand and walking me through that :D
I was pretty psyched about the upcoming tours, I have been practicing and then I got a promo at work and cannot come play with you guys at any two day stuff for a minute. I will get out and pretty up those holes for sure and hope the burgh makes it 2-0.

Apr 14 2008, 03:47 PM
A handful of PFDS volunteers worked in the rain and 39 degree temps on Sunday morning at Moraine State Park. The OB rope was repaired/restrung along the creek on holes 2 and 18. We cleared a lot of the debris along the creekside of hole 2, however, there is still a lot of branches/debris along the mid-section of that hole. If anyone is planning to play a round out there this week, your assistance in helping to clear the sides of hole 2 would be greatly appreciated. The same goes for debris along the fairway of hole 13. All in all, the course is looking really nice for this weekend's Ironwood Open. :)

Paid last night via the PDGA. Must take a while for them to process because I have yet to see any account activity. Just might have been faster to mail the entry.
Chris if you still have room I would be interested.
I am coming out of retirement and this will be the only tournament that I travel for this year. I will be there Friday sometime. I look forward to playing three rounds from the gold.
