Is there some sort of form to help get the sponsorship? Excuse my ignorance... but how does the sponsorship work?

As of now, there is no official sponsorship form. From the information that I have gotten from a past Ice Bowl TD, it doesn't seem like we have ever had one.

There is still time for me to put one together, would that make things easier?

Don't worry about it. I think I need to read up on what the icebowl is all about and how it works.

Yes, a simple form that lists people and the amounts of their sponsorship would be very useful; a page that has maybe 15 spots for sponsors and a description of what the money is going for and the idea of the Ice Bowl at the top would be good enough

I have made an "official sponsorship" form that can be used to collect sponsorships from friends and family. It includes information about the event and about the food bank in general.

Please email me if you would like a copy of the form. I have also sent one to Larry to post on the website so it should be up there soon as well.

I also could use some help promoting the tournament. I have a flyer printed up and would really appreciate it if someone could volunteer to put a copy of the flyer on the bulletin boards of our courses. I don't have a car right now, so it is difficult for me to get anywhere other than schenley.

Thanks,

Dave

The official Ice Bowl 2008 minis arrived today, all we need now is a little more cold weather and some snow and we should be all set for February 2nd!

I have been working to keep the cost of this years ice bowl down so we can maximize the amount of money we can donate to the Food Bank but I have been thinking that it might be nice to have some hot coffee/water for hot chocolate available to those who brave the elements for this years ice bowl. I am planning on baking chocolate chip cookies as an extra incentive for people to show up, would anyone be willing to provide a hot water or coffee on Saturday (like a box thing from brugers (sp?) bagels or something)? I would be willing to negotiate the cost of your entry fee against the cost of the coffee.

OK Coffee will be taken care of. Thanks Alex.

If anyone else is feeling inspired to bring something else, cookies or donuts etc. let me know and we can set something up.

Hey Everyone,
Please come to the Ice Bowl tomorrow at Schenley. Join in this fun event and show your support for the PFDS, but more importantly for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Let's show everyone what a great club we are.

Even the fair-weather player that I am will be there, and as long as I play no one else will finish last.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Ice Bowl. Around 25 people participated and we raised $674 for the food bank. To everyone who helped get the course readied, thanks for your help as well, the tournament would not have been such a success without you.
