The 2008 Live Oak Summer Open will be held July 5-6, 2008. I will serve as your humble tournament director this year, with ample help from Keith Baker, James Pellman, Michaela Steele, Laura and Jim Bob Karshis, Brian Paschal, Joe Minella and a host of others to make your tournament experience a success.

This year we will play a similar format to last year's event, but without rain! More details to follow as they develop. Please contact me if you are interested in being a named sponsor of this terrific event.

Are you planning on using McClain? If so, SADC would like to help. Let me know so we can attend the LOSO Meetings to discuss what we can do.

IMO, it'd be a mistake not to.

Brian, I don't have a lot of time for an entire design, but if you want I can update the losologo from last year.

Sure Geoff, I'd love to see your 2008 design. The more the merrier. Thanks.

Two issues with McLain for LOSO... speed of play and distance from Live Oak HQ. We already have people traveling to UC and back. McLain is a very challenging course and you'll probably see a "C" tier sometime this year run by the good folks at SADC. If we ever change LOSO to two one day events (ams saturday, pros sunday) we may use McLain.

I played all the holes are LO yesterday. Will we be playing 11A, 11B, & 11C for the tourney? I hope so. They've moved 11A's basket and it plays alright. I played 11B from the peninsula. Not sure if that is the actual tee location but playing it with short tee from the first peninsula and long tee from the second peninsula is a sweet layout and makes for an awesome shot in my opinion. In fact I'd say that is one of the better holes on the course configured that way. 11C is still a bear.
