No problem on getting the info up. It's what I do. The Doubles were a challenge to get up and going this weekend as I had none of the materials. They were in the clipboard. I have started another doubles kit with signup sheets, cards, CTP bag and score cards. With 2 kits floating around now, dubs should be covered. I'll be running dubs again this weekend as I do not have to work. See everyone at 13:00 on Saturday.

Good Shootin Sjur and Stevie!!! doubles was huge saturday!!

i know Narehood came as close as possible to aceing hole 1 to start the day off (hit the cage on the back side on the skip it was so close)
and i know Sjur 3'd hole 8 with a 20 foot putt which is just insane!!

Dubs winners took home $40 each...nice, Stevie won back his membership and entry fee.

Sjur is utilizing his ROC throwing abilities to tame the Castle. From what I've heard and witnessed on a couple of holes with him. Although I'm quite sure he didn't throw a Roc on his second shot for the 3 on 8! Way to go Sjur!

Nope it was a star wraith. he did park 18 with a roc though. missed the put but still!

Sunday after Rory, DP and I had our challenge, Scuba hooked up with us for the back nine, We took a little break and were going to play some more. When we walked back up to hole 1 Sjur was there. We got to talkin and he told us that Schwebby was on his way to play a round. So Sjur, DP, Scub's and myself decided to have another tag challenge. All I've got to say is HOLY [censored]! I knew Sjur had to be a good player but I had know idea he had that kind of distance and control. We all watched as Sjur parked hole 3 pin high about 7 to10 out and of course knock the putt down for a 2. And not to mention an incredible 2nd shot on hole 8 that left him looking at about a 40ft putt for a 3 and oh yeah he three'd every hole on the back nine to finish with a 51(Which by the way, I think is the new unofficial course record) Needless to say he kept the #2 tag. We all retained our tags. Watching Schwebby and Sjur play was incredible! And of course they are both nice and humble guy's that are willing to answer any question. I picked up some technique stuff that I'm gonna try to implement. I know I'm being a little long winded here but I really wanted to share that with everyone. What a great Sunday that was!

Yes, it was a Roc, and Yes he did leave a couple out there. But man what a blast to watch Sjur and Schweb carve it up. It was like Clash at The Castle live, hmmm now their's an idea. :D

Gosh...I just cant get over Sjur either. I really want to go out with him sometime, maybe we can watch USDGC videos, or pump some roc's out in the field.

understandable and the lunch break in there was pretty good. but your unofficial score is listed on the web site so it stands for now (and maybe forever)

the a 4 on 8? that truley is a perfect front. the only other way i can see it is an ace somewhere. do tell.

That hole lunch break thing is hilarious. And that was when I shot a 52...the day before Azalea 06. And it was a 5 minute drive home (no cell phone) to tell my wife that I just shot a personal best on the back...26...and wasn't going to be home when I promised. And played the front with BS... the back with Nate. But it really doesn't matter.
This round was a straight through from 1 to 18. Original course but only short 15 at the time. Just thought it was a normal round untill I had deuced 1,2,3,5,6 and realized I had never done that...finished 3,4,2. And was totally freaking out...and choked on 10. But finished strong.
It's only on the webiste because I talked to Boz about it 3 days later after shooting a 13 down at the Big Valley Challenge for the win. Boz later added the course record page to the website.

it is on record buddy. that is a perfect front for sure!

Will doubles be changing to a weekday when the time changes? I remember reading somewhere that they used to be before the time change. I go out of town a lot on the weekends and would personally love to see it during the week once the time changes and it starts getting darker later.

Yes we do week day doubles once daylight savings takes effect and the days get longer. we have historically done it either Tuesday or Thursday nights. 6:00 p.m. Tee time (i think) usually starts around Memorial day. we need a long day to fit the long rounds in at the castle.

Are we still doing Pro/Am doubles? The only time that I have been this year we weren't able to do it that way...and we had like 8 or 10 people. It was just obvious that we couldnt draw a line down the middle. It would be nice to have a format figured out before hand, but I guess we can play it by ear if we have to.

I can't believe I missed such an easy put...especially after the way I had been bangin 'em.

Playing 18 with Sjur against DP and Steve was crazy. Those 2 made an awesome team. We were neck and neck the entire time. I thought for sure that the winner of that card would take it all.

I'm definitely looking forward to next Wednesday's doubles. I had a blast.

So disappointing... Besides the anxiety of putting in a playoff, I think some of it has to do with a cold arm. We sat around for about 30 min. waiting on everyone else to finish before someone suggested we go ahead and start the playoff since it was getting dark quick.

The Cali player only gets the first throw on the CTP hole to count for the bag of bucks. (he only pays once so you only get 1 throw.) and the Cali will not get an oppertunity to pay twice and get 2 throws. Bag of bucks is 1 throw one shot for everyone who puts in.

I am proud to announce that we have had a Person step up to run Weekend Doubles. a big thanks goes out to Fig for Making weekend doubles happen. the first date will be this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. following the work day so show up early and stay late for a great day at the castle.

Fig has informed me that his work is requiring him to be out of town this weekend, so I am officially running doubles this saturday, so for those of you who have not seen how doubles is run under the iron fist of d-tuck be it known that I run a tight ship! This probably should have been posted earlier, but the site was down.

The three of us that decided to run doubles on Saturdays will all be out of town for the USDGC (Fig, D-Tuck, myself).

If you guys want to have doubles Saturday, unfortunately someone will have to step up and run it.

A lot of people will be in Rock Hill so it might not be a bad week to postpone unless someoen else wants to head it up.

I think, at this point, it's up for discussion.

Just threw my new XD off 9 and heard a bunch of chains. Got around the corner only to find that disc on the ground, under the basket. Would have been my first ace. Too many emotions in such a short period of time!

We had 16 show up on Saturday for Dubs.Me and Stevie took it with a 52,Christian and Scooter 2nd with a 54 and a newbie Greg hit the ace on 16.Can't recall 3rd place at this time.

Having a huge ace pool hit by a first timer that comes in puts in a dollar and walks away with $300 is a little painful to me. we were talking about it yesterday. i can't think of one club member that has hit an ace pool in club run events in 4 years. Chris jones took home almost $200 with $1 and never came back. Christian hit a big one at least he plays alot of club events and now this. wow!!

it is strange how a lot of non-regulars have taken our ace pools but what can you do. I was in Crow's group when he took a $250+ monthly ace pot, whatever

I have to agree, it is painful. We should come up with a way to tax it. I like Scubas idea of paying out two thirds of the pool so that it does not drop back to basically nothing if someone hits an ace next week.

The good news is Week night doubles should start in about a 3 weeks. Which will take the place of weekend doubles. I will be the TD and i can assure you it will be a lot of fun.

Spread the word. Thanksgiving morning Doubles at 9 on Thursday. $5 entry, $1 Ace and $1 CTP. This will be a random draw.

The NHDGC ace pool will not be in effect but if we have a good turnout we wtill should have some loot on hand. If you are staying local for thanksgiving this should be a blast.

Yo i need someone to run doubles this weekend. i am going to Columbia S.C. to play the Earlwood tournament. anyone interested holla i will get you the stuff you need. 910-200-7453. if no one can help we will just skip this weekend and pick up in two weeks after the monthly next weekend.

when posting the above message i totally forgot about the controlled burn today out at the course so i am not even sure if the park will be open saturday. so i had a few people offer to run doubels but i think the safe thing to do will be to cancel doubles tomorrow. we will have the monthly next saturday and then crank back up with doubles saturday 3-20-2010. i will get Monty to post scores from the Monthly first thing Monday and get the web site updated before next weekend for sure. have a great weekend everybody.
