I played the course for the first time today-white pads. I assume these are the short, and the blues the long.
Several holes had a longer pin placement. Which will be used in the tourney?
What's the Forest Hills course gonna be like?...Open? Long?.. What should we prepare for?

If the Temp course is anything like last year and we have a full field it will be a long round. If I remember correctly, it will take more than 3 hours to play. They also had staggered tee times, not shotgun. Can't wait to play the temp course again. Good stuff!

yeah I was rated like 953 at the time and that was my first cash and kinds of stuff.

I had to win in a playoff and then Sjur, Brian McRee and Zach Rogers all were 1 behind us.

And Zach had like 3 or 4 OB's in the final 9 that were unreal bad luck.

Lots of stuff had to happen for me to get the w, but it happened.

Only been close to another win one time since and it was in Durham.

I have unbogged half the trees at OT sloan park with mine. So you have mine and 1F2Ns check, that makes 10. I should finish top 10 this time.

Valley Springs White Distances

1 - 165 10 - 235
2 - 208 11 - 225
3 - 198 12 - 286
4 - 225 13 - 231
5 - 221 14 - 211
6 - 250 15 - 277
7 - 262 16 - 237
8 - 196 17 - 269
9 - 215 18 - 334
1940 2405
4345
Because of TREES and elevation change many holes play longer than these numbers imply.
Don't know distances for the Blue course, but it is longer and is much tighter.

Snapp, we will begin setup at Forrest Hills around 8am Friday.
Anyone that would like to help is welcome. We will be setting up baskets, flagging tee positions, stringing OB, posting Mandos, building clowns mouth, and removing baskets before dark.

Sunday - setting up baskets/pads, 1 and 11 will need spotters if you know anyone willing, and removing baskets/pads at the end.
Tee times on Sunday will begin at 8:30AM. Tee times will be available at Valley Springs on Saturday after the second round when scores are done. We will also post here on the discussion board.

Remember 8:30AM players meeting on Saturday 9:00AM tee.

Now is your opportunity to ask for help with directions to Forrest Hills. PM/email me and I'll be happy to provide assistance. Please don't wait until Sunday morning as a lot will be going on.

Good luck to all this weekend and remember to have fun.

I wonder why he's not playing QB for Duke?

Rocky - sounds like your Duke director of Sports Promotion has a better idea for your PooP....

"Coach K does a really good job of letting the kids know they're the Sixth Man," says Scott Yakola, Duke's director of sports promotions. As for the coach's effect on the students, Yakola says, "He could take a dump on a plate and serve it to them, and they'd love it."

--Chris Ballard, SI.com

Last year, I sat behind the Duke bench during the Blue Devils' Final Four semifinal game with Connecticut, and what I witnessed were 40 of the most vile, profane minutes I've ever spent (with the exception of multiple viewings of "Scarface.") Krzyzewski himself was an unfiltered Chris Rock concert for much of the day, but one of his assistants was worse. During one timeout, with the starters sitting on the bench, gulping Gatorade, this was his idea of "coaching" them:

"You're as [censored], and you're a [censored], and you're a bleeping [censored]-bleeper of a bleeper-bleeper. You bleepers don't bleeping deserve to wear the bleeping colors of Duke University! [censored]! Are you bleeping bleeping me? [censored] all of you. Get out of my bleeping faces."

At which point, he was replaced by Krzyzewski, whose assessment was far more succinct: "You bleeping make me bleeping sick."

--Mike Vaccaro

Mike Krzyzewski, appearing on tonight's ESPN SportsCenter's "50 States in 50 Days" tour in North Carolina, had this to say about former Duke player (and assistant coach) turned ESPN analyst Jay Bilas:

"Yeah, I do remember Jay Bilas, but I get fixated on his shorts and how he filled them so... Anyway, he filled them."

--Coach K

First and foremost of these attributes has to be Krzyzewski's hypocrisy. For a man such as Coach K to claim that his program is clean and on the up and up, is completely laughable.

Numerous Duke players have come to play for K under suspicious circumstances. Chris Duhon and Carlos Boozer both saw one of their parents receive a high-paying job under the eye of notorious Duke boosters. While a long paper trail extends straight from their jobs to Coach K's office, not a thing has ever been done.

--Jared Sexton, Indiana Statesman

I could go on and on about the double standard Duke's coach enjoys, but the more important point is that ESPN has chosen to cover for him and build the Duke program up as a paragon of all things wonderful about college hoops. To hear Vitale and Patrick and Bilas tell it, you'd think Duke didn't offer certain majors that attract the majority of its players, that it graduates all its players (it does not, and according to Sports Illustrated its graduation rate is not the highest in the ACC), and that parents have never voiced displeasure with the way their kids were treated while in Durham.

--Desmond Watson, College Hoops Gazette

Reggie Love left the Duke basketball program in 2002 under controversial circumstances. He was suspended for four games late in the season for an undisclosed violation of team rules, although thousands of ACC fans know the reason after seeing Internet photos of an apparently intoxicated Love at a UNC fraternity house.

Robert, I think you're right in some cases. Just last night against Davidson, I think I saw a blue advantage.

It is a fact, Duke has an advantage on the floor, on how to take advantage of the envioronment. The goal is to win, and thats what they do. I myself have always supported Duke, mainly for all the things Coach K has done for our troops over seas, at his own expense, for one. 2, cause Iof his style of play, and the emotion he brings out in his players. Have you ever visited K-Ville. Nice place, Reason he is loved by many, he gets players to achieve. Rivalry, yes it is.

Monty i talked with Brent Allison today as a matter of fact how funny is that? he is pretty sure Matt turned in the scores and i know for a fact that Kirk turned in the scores for Tupelo even though they have not been locked in either. my guess is the PDGA is a little swamped with new year tourney updates and ratings updates coming up. i am like you in that i want both of these tournaments on the next update so lets hope the PDGA catches up. i am sure they will.
