Disc golf needs you at Adler Park in Libertyville on Tuesday September 11th. Chicagoland TV (CLTV) will be filming an informative segment for Metromix about disc golf. League play begins at 5:30PM. This is your chance go get on tv. Please come out if you can. They are going to be filming some action during league and this is a great promotional opportunity for disc golf. Here is a link to CLTV's website-> http://cltv.trb.com/

Some more news. After several years of hard work from many disc golfers the Lake County Forest Preserve finally voted 7-0 to install a course. It's still going to take some time but finally the north side will get championship calibur course.

Two pieces of great news, Brett. Congrats! Its been quite a few years since we met in the parking lot at Hudson Mills. I hope this new course is close-by so you can enjoy it. 24-holes, perhaps?

Since you mentioned DG on TV, I thought I'd remind folks that its easy to have regular doses of your favorite sport over the airwaves by utilizing your community resources. Brett, maybe you can help me line up some volunteers who want to do their part to support and grow DG in the area.

Here are some great links:

Chicago's own Public Access station. Site has a great "getting started" link that will give you what you need to know in a few clicks.

A system of Public and Community access stations operating in the Chicago-area 'burbs. There are stations all over the area and its easy to bring DG to most towns in the region.

Local residency is required for these stations, but they're easy to join in order to submit programming. So if you're excited about a one-time thing, get fired up about regular doses of Disc Golf on TV. Disc Golf Live video magazine episodes are always free to broadcast partners. Interested parties can contact their station for broadcast format details and then get in touch with me. The same applies of course to folks anywhere there's a community access station. Here's a national (but not complete) listing:

Enjoy those new holes, Brett.

Best regards to all,
