Roger Koenigseder is starting a weekly Night Golf at Tilles, Flip Dubs on Tuesday Nights starting on Aug. 21st

For right now, we will be trying to gauge interest and play will be free and casual, if it develops well, it might become an optional pay to play with prizes/cash payouts

it will be a round of 18 holes, flip for partners at 7:30pm

Tilles is fairly well lit for night rounds, glo sticks to tape to disc will be available

There should be a pretty good turn out. I have talked to about 6-8 golfers that are pretty good that do not usually play much around here anymore. With them and the usuals we should have a pretty good game. I am looking forward to it.

Lotta fun last night, 15 players, basically very casual, played 9 while still daylight, took a good 20 minute break, everyone got their glo on and the shorter 9 hole alternate tee's during dark........

Will definitely be looking to make it a regular event with a low entry to provide some payout

You'll have to use a glo stick or lighting device on your disc being thrown, we can't stop play for everyone to look for lost disc

Tilles is fairly well lit but the light on the disc will be much easier

I have maybe 20 some odd glo sticks that will be free this coming tuesday night (Sept. 4th)

This morning the city started removing the big tree on hole 7 at Tilles, will make it an easier lefty hyzer /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

also will ruin the protection the tree has for 8's box

8's tee will probably move to the "alternate" and a few of us are considering moving #7's basket back away from the walking path further perhaps on the side of the small hill, that might make it more of an even righty/lefty hole

most of the time if we say 6:30 to draw partners we usually wind up actually starting anywhere from 6:45 to 7, maybe we can start later if we actually want to play in the dark, as it is alot of nights I don't leave the park till 9:30

Roger wanted me to post that he wants to draw/flip promptly at 6:30 pm tomorrow

Ace Pot has been capped at $300 and we're building a new pot to replace this one once it's hit

Evan, one way you can always work on a re-seed is to take 20% of the ace pot collected each week and put it towards a re-seed. Once the re-seed hits $100, then start a second re-seed, and so on. Then cap the ace pot at $599 to avoid any 1099's having to be sent out.

Once that Ace pot gets just above where it is now, you'll have people from Tulsa driving over to shoot at it. The upside is as long as its up there your mini attendance will sky rocket. If you're holding back 20% of the mini entry and putting it towards the club it will build up quickly also. its a win win as long as the pot stays up there and if you have the $100 reseed waiting, it won't take long for it to start pulling in players again. ;)

Thanks for the advice Dave, there's still $1 coming from the $5 entry going into the (future) ace pot and $1 going to WAFDA, leaving $3 to payout

as a board, the general concensus was that $300 was good enough for a player draw

Charge $5 for the mini, with $1 to the club, as you are doing now, then $1 extra for CTP and $1 extra for Ace. Still take 20% of ace for reseed.

On weekends over here the base price goes from $5 to $6 and the club gets $2 from each player. $1 of it goes to the club and $1 goes to the Oklahoma open towards added cash. ;)

Sounding like Roger's gonna have a good one this week, skip a hole on 1st 9 holes then regular 9, called aces on the original basket during skip a hole will still count as an ace for ace pot, not score or stroke though :D

So how was it? I always try to play in strange weather, it makes for some interesting shots.

I didn't make it out, feeling sick, however watching Channel 5 last night, they were broadcasting from Tilles, showing downed limbs (not on the course) and they mentioned seeing people in rain gear playing "frisbee golf" in the extreme weather :cool:

Wade hit it two weeks ago hole 8 and then brian hit it this past week hole 4. I think they are brothers but im not sure but they always come together so its pretty cool that they both hit one.

Also this coming tuesday we will be playing hole 8 from the alt. position which is directly to the right of the tee box in between two trees. I have made this decision soley because so many people are getting close to getting hit in the head from people throwing on hole 7.
Also I plan on coming up with some new tee positions for a couple of the holes just to throw some kinks in the scores and maybe make this course a little more exciting.

Any idea if this is still gonna happen tomorrow. I saw that Jay did not get to play OO, even though he was signed up, and that Des was not even signed up to play. Anyone know what is gooing on with this?

BTW - Great Job at OO Eads. Last time I looked you had it by 3 and the Finals were not up yet. Did you get to play a finals, or was it rained out? Either way, I know you were top four, and had 2 really good rounds! Congrats!

Ya we played a final 9 and boy was it crazy. We played Mcclure skip a hole and let me tell you that is one long course. So I go into that with a one stroke lead and 2 or 3 local boys on my card which means a lot of people rooting for me to tank it. Everyone Except Duff (who won a $20 dollar bet off of my win I hear.) So I go into the first hole and have one of the better drives of the weekends but am still about 150 ft out from the basket. This hole is made for the righty as it slopes down to the right with a stream at the bottom. So of course my second shot proceeds to skip right into that stream. And I take a circle 5 on the first hole. I also with that 5 give up my 1 stroke lead. We then move on to the next hole where I proceed to make a 55ft putt for 3 that ties me back up for the lead in a three way tie. We then all 3 the next hole. Then hole 6 to 7 I miss a 15 footer and take a 4. Then we all take a 4 on 8 to 9. Then on 10 to 11 myself and Ty both take a 4 on it and the leader I believe takes a 5 or 6 which gives myself the lead again and puts Ty and Joseph in a tie for second 1 back from me. Then we take a star 4 on 13 to 14. Then on 15 to 16 Joseph takes a 6 or 7 with an OB stroke, and Ty still one back from me makes a GREAT putt from 40ft out for a 3. I then proceed to putt from 30ft hitting just left of center chains and splashing out and take a 4 which ties both Ty and I for the lead. Now down to the last hole 1026ft 17 to 18 its a big one. So Ty tees of first and makes it about 250 ft before hitting a tree and falling straight to the ground. I am up next and I throw a hyzer flip shot that heads straight into the trees along the left side of the fairway and get very lucky to kick back into the fairway just ahead of Ty. So now its Ty's turn to throw his second shot and with many limbs in his way he tries to throw a hyzer shot that will sit in the fairway but the wind decides to carry it to far left and it skips OB. At this point I know that I just have to play smart to win this thing. So I throw my second shot up the fairway and then a thrid shot about 250ft away from the pin and then toss a nice wasp 15ft from the basket and take the win by three strokes. It was no doubt the best win for me so far in my disc golf career and I will cherish it for many years just wish I had a trophy of some sort to remember it by but I will take it either way.
Thank you to everyone that was watching the scores over the weekend and anyone that was rooting for me I appreciate the support from my friends and my local Club. Also I know that she wont read this but I am so thankful to have the most amazing Girlfriend/Caddy in the world. Thank you Leah for being there this weekend for me.

Jay was there but hurt his arm while throwing a 500ft hole. He said that he would still be there tomorrow night for the clinic because his putting was still fine but that there is a chance that he wont play in the mini. So expect to still have him there for the 5 to 6 part. As far as Des goes she is at their home back in Iowa and will not be attending the mini as she decided she didnt want to go on this road trip.

So everyone still needs to show up and show Jay that we have a big following here in fort smith and that disc golf is a big thing around here.

Glad to see everyone out tonight. The Yeti is a super nice guy, and an awesome putter!! What a great thing to do, taking time to help fellow disc golfers, and putting out the prizes for the mini, including CTP and Putting prizes.
Had a great time playing with Roger, James and Cory. We played some great golf and had some awesome shots, including many amazing putts. I will definitely be doing night golf again, as it is a BLAST! :)

It's gonna be fun, I'll have a free CTP or 2 also, It looks like we'll be able to do the same as in 08', might have to move original 8's tee from the new position to where it was for 1 of the temp holes
