If you do, chances are you live in a city with a tough commute, or on one of the coasts, based on this story on CNN's web site:

CNN story on volunteerism (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/08/volunteers.ap/index.html)

This may help explain why there are so many disc golf courses, clubs and tournaments in the Midwest compared to here in SoCal.

Perhaps this is partly why the Twin Cities has more courses surrounding it than any major metro.

Minnesotans play more rounds of golf per golfing day per person than any other state. There's definitely a spill-over effect for those that love golf on the cheap.

Minnesotans are much more health conscious than the average American. Disc golf is good exercise.

Folks in the Twin Cities have a great deal of civic pride, love their parks, and take advantage of every nice day over 40 to be outside and recreating.

And the above mentioned fact that traffic in the Twin Cities is fairly reasonable compared to most metro areas.

The Cities are a great place to live if you don't mind the extended "hunker down factor".

The only hunkering down is from the heavier weight clothes worn during our rounds of disc golf in the winter... :D
