How should I grip my putter for longer throws? Here is my grip;

I use this for my putter and mid's......is there a better grip I should try out? Any thoughts?

For drives and throws outside 175 200 with my putter I just a modified power grip!!! I tuck my index finger and my pinky hard against the rim and leave my other two a little fanned out like yours are there. Just try tucking that index finger into the rim for some more power!!! Not too much difference so it shouldnt be that hard to get used to.

That looks like it to me........Try that out and see how it works for you.

I just use a basic fan grip, same thing I putt with, for putter drives. Gets me 300 feet accurate with an Aviar P&A with some hyzer and a little height. Do you really need much more?

Try a regular power grip, but stick that middle finger out. This is how some VERY good pros throw all their shots.

I compare it to ball golf....Ideally, you want to use the same technique and let the club selection do the work...Likewise, in DG, I would want to use the same motion, and let the disc selection do the work. I realize that this is definitely not always possible or practical, but if I can use my putter (full throw) on a long up-shot or short hole instead of taking some speed off of a driver or middie I limit some of the variables that can go wrong on a shot.

The only disadvantage I've run into with this is when the speed/power required to get the disc there is close to the max speed of the disc, the discs start to behave less predictably. On a 350 foot hole, I could try to throw a buzzz near 90-95% to get it there, or a tracker at like 70-80%. If I put a little too much on the buzzz, it might turn over too much, or not fade back enough, meaning I have left/right accuracy issues beyond my own left/right aim issues. With the tracker, that little bit extra would just put me too far.
What it really comes down to is where you can afford to error. Throwing a driver below it's optimal flight speed seems to lead to missing left and/or short. Throwing a mid near or above it's max stable flight speed leads to misses right and/or long. There are situations for both and it comes down to execution percentages for a particular person verses risks. Even though I stated above that throwing a buzzz hard vs a tracker soft is a riskier shot, I execute it more consistently than a controlled driver. If, however, there was very undesirable stuff long/right, and just an obstructed putt short/left, I'd take the driver shot 90% of the time. When faced with this situation, I very rarely consider it a 'must 2' hole.
In putters vs. mids, I generally prefer the putter for this very reason. I use a full on power grip with a wizard or cryztal challenger. In low ceiling situations, I use a fan grip on a glide or a forehand wasp/buzzz, again, depending on where it's better off to miss.

Do you really need to throw a putter over 300 feet? I'd never trust any type of power grip on a putter when accuracy is important.
I use the same grip as your first grip and have no problems with getting it 275 feet.
