I'm very sad to report that a long time friend of mine, freestyle partner and disc golfer Diego Gamboa was killed in an accident yesterday. If I hear when services are, I'll post them here.

"Diego is going to be cremated. However, their is a memorial service tomorrow at 4:00 at Incarnate Word college (broadway & Hildebrand). Diego earned his masters degree there and recently had been spending lots of time out there playing frisbee, basketball and lifting weights."

Is this the same Diego that played the mini last Sunday? This is truly sad news.

MAN! Our Prayer's are with his family. This is a terrible loss.

He was in my foursom and us "Old guys" talked about how great our lives were going considering the abuse we put ourselves through when we were younger. He was the kind of man you would consider a friend even after spending such a short time together. God speed My Friend!!

Interesting Diego Fact...

Diego was a master rated chess player and won many, many tournaments during our days at Roosevelt High School. It was so cool to see him walk in to the tournament in his psychadelic furs t-shirt, ratty jeans and tennis shoes, and whip up on all the starched and pressed ROTC guys!

I think I went 5 moves once against him :D
