There is a big write up about Russellville today in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.Go to www.arkansasdemocratgazette.com (http://www.arkansasdemocratgazette.com)
Look for disc golf and you'll find it.Mack Hollis said it's a full page in the paper.(Oh and it's NOT the NW AR edition)
Again this is NOT a PDGA sanctioned event yet,I'm the TD and i'll do my best to get it done.Little Rock will represent here strong.Let's see if Western AR and NW AR can make it happen.Everyone is welcome.Come one Come all.New Pitch designed course.Make that 3 now. ;)

Seven Of us from LR Area drove over yesterday to check out the new course. Loved the Course !! Best part of the day for me was when Steve H and I left early and told the other 5 guys that it was fixing to rain. Nah they did not listen muhahahaha !!! Rain was so bad people where pulling over on the side of the freeway. Steve and I laughed so hard all the back to Little rock, In my DRY car !!

Great course !! Also wanted to point out one thing i noticed. Some of the Tee pads that are not poured yet are kinda facing the wrong direction. This was something i noticed. Seems a shifting of the pads over to the left or right might be needed on hole 4 and 5? they are facing a group of trees as you run up the tee pad. If they where to be reshifted abit they would aim right down the fairway :) but other than that i sure can see alot of hard work that has gone in so far !! And the course is a sweet layout for the area. It kinda reminded me of playing Golf in FL. where we would throw to the shade on the super long holes. I did that a few times :)

Thanks for the input.I'll be driving down tomorrow or wed to oversee the concrete.I'll make sure they don't pour 4 and 5 until I see it.
It looks like par for the course will be 58.
There's no way about 4 holes could be aced so they jump to par 4(I say no way but you never know,Act of "GOD" maybe) :D
Again thanks for the vote of confidence and i'm happy to be able to design another for the state.
(Now if we could just get about 20 more)
;)

What did I leave there? The only thing I knew of was a JLS and I thought it was in the drink for good??!! Hopefully not though, I just found out I could throw it decent today!
John and I ran down early this morning (there at 7:00) and played through it. I really liked the course, good mix of shots. Wish I had a big-arm like John to unleash on a few of them, but oh well. He ended up taking me by 2 strokes due to the long stuff. I shot a 64 and he shot a 62. I was overall happy with my play. There were 3 holes not completely cleared that I took 4's on that could have been 3's, I had 1 OB (JLS) and one drive into the ground 20 feet out. So I could have shot 59 easily.
Definetely going to be a GREAT course when it is finished and cleaned up. Probably the best championship caliber potential in AR!!!!

Everything went well with my dad's surgery, so I will be in Russellville tomorrow. I will be pulling out of Alma at 6:00am with two juniors so we can get a chance to lok at the holes that weren't finished earlier this week. I have 1 seat left in my car, 2 if you don't mind sitting close (it is a small car :( ), but that is good too because it gets really good gas mileage! Anyway, if anyone needs a ride let me know, I don't charge for gas money as I am heading that way anyway, and I'll be heading right back home when it is over.
