We're starting the weekly minis at Steelplechase in Kyle back up next week (April 4th). Singles format with alternating tees each week. $5 to play with an optional $5 ace pot. $1 from each entry will go to the South Austin Disc Association and we'll be providing CTP and other prizes every week. Last year we had a ton of fun on Wednesday nights, so I hope you all can join us. The town of Kyle is very enthusiastic about the course and disc golf in general, so it means a lot to get a good turn-out down there.

Here are directions from Disc Nation for anyone needing them:
 Route 35 South
Exit for FM 150 in Kyle (exit 213?)
At first Intersection, go Left (cross over highway)
 At stop sign Go Right
Go Past Dairy Queen to Bottom of Hill
Take Left on to FM 150
Take 1st Left on to Lehman Rd
 Go Down 1 Mile
Take Left on to Hallie St
 Follow to entrance to Park

Hey All. Thanks to everyone who came to play in the first 2 minis of the season in Kyle. We've been having a blast and playing some good golf. We're trying very hard to get enough players for 2 divisions this year (Pro and Am), so please come down and join the fun.

The town of Kyle continues to be incredibly supportive of, and excited about, disc golf. In fact, with no prompting, they donated a bunch of Steeplechase Disc Golf shirts to the mini last night, so everyone in attendance walked away with a FREE shirt - very cool!

Please spread the word and plan on joining us next week (Wed. April 18th) when we'll be having an extra contest BEFORE the start of the mini (long putt for a STAR Roadrunner) and we'll be giving away the remaining Steeplechase T-Shirt. In addition, we'll be doing the usual CTP for a Disc Nation Gift Certificate and long drive after the mini for another piece of sweet plastic. The shirts are first come, first served so show up early. This is a great course in a great town and we have been fortunate enough to have a fun group regular players show each week. So what are you waiting for - Spread the word and join us on April 18th!!

The Mini starts at 6:00 each week, but is cancelled on 5/2 due to anticipated very high water and severe weather (see post below).

The 5/2 Mini at Steeplechase in Kyle is Cancelled. The course has been tough to play due to high water the past couple of weeks (which is ok), but a great deal of rain over the past 2 days plus a severe weather watch already in effect for this evening are forcing us to cancel this week's mini. Please join us on 5/9 when we'll have an extra prize to make up for this week's cancellation. If you normally attend the mini, then please spread the word that it is cancelled for 5/2.

Starting this week (5/16) we are going to be having a Pro and AM division each week at the Steeplechase Mini. If we have ladies and/or juniors show up, then we will add those divisions as well. Tell your friends!!

Hey Everyone! In addition to adding Pro and AM divisions, we're making some other changes to the Steeplechase Mini format. The Pro division will have an entry fee of $10, and the AM division will have an entry fee of $5. The ace pot will be an optional $2 (not $5 as in the past). Pros will be paid in cash, and AMs in Merchandise. Tee time will remain at 6:00 PM every Wednesday through August.

We're making these changes based on feedback from the folks who have been playing each week and are trying to make this a larger event. Please spread the word about these changes and the mini.

Thanks!

I am canceling the mini in Kyle for the next 2 weeks. The water at the park is very high, with the river covering the crossings in many places. This has made play long, tedious and difficult, and resulted in poor turn-outs the past few weeks. I also want to spread the word about this event more in the next 2 weeks to see how attendance will be affected. We are trying really hard to make this a fun and popular Mini, but to date we have yet to achieve consistent player counts.

As outlined previously, we are changing the format of the mini going forward. There will be a Pro Division with a $10 entry fee, and an AM division with a $5 entry fee. Pros will be paid in cash and AMs in merchandise. There will also be an optional $2 ace pot. We will add divisions for Ladies and Juniors if we have players from these divisions attend. There will also be a CTP prize each week per division. We will continue to play this as a singles event for the time being, but I am open to input on any changes that will increase the popularity of this Mini. We will tee-off promptly at 6:00 PM.

If you like this mini and want to see it continue, then please spread the word to anyone you know of any ability, and plan on joining us on Wednesday June 6th. If you have any questions, call Disc Nation at 512-280-1115. If you would like flyer for this event to post at your local course, pub, or wherever, then please e-mail me at [email protected]

Thanks!

Damon
