all we have a fellow Round Rock disc golfer that has been diagnosed with lung and partial brain cancer. We just found this out Saturday afternnoon. he is in Austin's seton hospital and needs your PRAYERS he is in room 730. if you have time please stop by and say hi or give him a call just to let him know we are all thinking and praying for him. 324-1730. Visiting hrs are from 11:00am -8:00pm. he is getting ready to go in for biopsy this am but should be back in his room later today. depending on how things go today they may start radiation. if there are any updates to his condition I will post here. or if you want me to tell him anything please feel free to call my cell 567-9276.

I know I'm always talking about how acupuncture & herbs can help us, but I have a cance specialist Dr. Yuxin He 419-7355. I don't work for hum any longer, but I've seen him work miracles in conjunction with local oncology centers. If nothing else it's incredibly effective in managing the side effects of Western treatment. I'm sure once mentioning my name he would even come to Seton (who we already have a clinic in conjunction with) for treatment. We love you Ricky & please let us know what we can do to help. The Double R is here waiting for the word on any help we can provide. :)

I will take a computer up there later today so he can see the LOVE the DOUBLE R has. He is going for bone scan 1:00ish than off to for more radiation. I will be talking to him as soon as he gets back from radiation and I will ask him how he feels and if he wants more vistors. I'm moving back to masters from grandmasters. Ricky and now I just found out that Dale H. is in RR Hospital. Trying to rule out stroke. Partial paralysis on left side of face only with numbness on the right. Did not extend to left extremities though. They are running tests now and Steven is with him and has his cell phone. I'll try to find out more. We never had these problems back in masters! I think its just the division and not the age!

It turned out to be some kind of palsy where a nerve was inflamed after an infection. He's taking some kind of drugs now for the infection. I asked the doctor about the side effect of the possibility of an erection lasting more than 4 hours and he said he said to thank God at his age!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wright Way Foundation members,
First, let me get you up to speed on what we have established. The Wright Way Foundation is now a not-for-profit organization. We established WWF as a not-for-profit organization so we would be recognized as an official business in the eyes of the federal government, which gave the WWF an Employer Identification Number (fed id#) that we will utilize for all of our financial transactions. Sponsors can now make a tax deductible contribution directly to the foundation and/or provide items that will be put up for bid in Silent Auctions. This EIN also allows our employers to put pre-tax dollars from our paychecks into the Wright Way Account directly (see 'Talking with your Employer' section for more detail on employer grants, payroll, etc.).

I am the sole executor on the Wright Way Foundation. Which means I will manage the money as it comes in... the Wright Way Foundation is legally tied to a Trust Account we set up at Chase Bank. Ricky and Leslee are the only people, outside of myself, that will have access to the Wright Way Foundation account. Once we have money in the account, we will provide Ricky and Leslee checkbooks and they can utilize the funds from the WWF account as they see fit.

Now comes the heavy lifting. We are holding a disc golf tournament for Ricky at Old Settlers, May 6.... there will also be a silent auction at this event. We need to canvass local businesses to solicit their support. We need everyone in the club to go to the businesses they walk in and out of everyday (banks, restaurants, bars, liquor stores, head shops... all the usual spots) and provide these potential sponsors the attached WWF Sponsor letter. If you would like, you can replace my name and phone # with yours at the bottom of the letter... please do so if you have a personal relationship with the potential sponsor. Please let them know that I am available to help them process their monetary and Silent Auction donations for the WWF and answer any questions they might have about the organization.

Kelley is also providing us a list of local businesses that sponsored a recent Ronald McDonald House charity event... I will provide to the club the list of these sponsors with their contact information. We will divide the list and conquer.


Talking with your Employer
Kelley and I both have matching grant programs with our respective employers. However, after digging under the covers a little, they do not support local or religious organizations (meaning the WWF and any church we associate ourselves with are not on the list). Please contact the charitable contributions manager at your employer and present them with the WWF EIN - 20-8828637 - and ask if they have a matching grants program that would support the Wright Way Foundation.
If your employer does not support local not-for-profit organizations we still can get pre-tax dollars put into the Wright Way Account through your employer's charitable contributions program. Basically, any personal donations you would like to make will be taken out of your paycheck before taxes and deposited directly into the WWF account.

he is doing ok but not great, his blood count and energy level is really low. He is still going through chemo and giving himself blood thinner shots. Epi has some sort of lump in his stomach and they had to do surgery but he is recovering now and is in Seton northwest. cant remember what room but if you want to stop by I am sure I can find out the room #. this post brings me deep sadness. ricky passed away last night at 12:30 am. :( as soon as I hear about funeral arrangements I will post on here. Please keep Leslee, rachel, wes and Ricky's immediate family in your thoughts and prayers as only time will heal this loss of such a GREAT friend and family man.

RIP Ricky, Leslie, Rachel, and Wes we are here for you.

We/I lost one of the most wonerderful people ever to walk this earth last nite. During this most sad time for all of us, please keep Ricky's family in your thoughts and prayers and try to remember the great times we all had with Ricky and remember that we/I will see him again. We/I are all better people just by having known Ricky Wright. Rest in peace my brother.

A true loss for the world.

We can only carry on with memories of him inside us. We can all say that we are truley blessed to have had him with us.

ditto. Double R has the best members anywhere. It was awesome to see so many golfers paying their respect to Ricky and his family they knew he loved disc golf and now they know how much disc golf loved him. I cannot say THANK YOU enough for all of the support the disc golfers have given Ricky and his family over the last 5 months simple AMAZING it has really restored my faith in human nature.

The guys from the PIASO I also want to send you guys a THANK YOU as well as it was a very special moment when Jerry was able to hand over the envelope you guys so graciously donated too.


Again I cannot thank the Double R family for standing strong and supporting our fallen brother, his family and his friends. Ricky will be truely missed but never forgotten. He was a very special man. I wonder who has more birdies Ricky or Tony!!! :) We will miss both of you...

We are going to lose them trees on tee box #1 for to long.....that would be a good place to plant a tree

I will talk with Emsud to see if memorial trees can be planted outside the memorial grove.

If his smile was any indication of what his life was really like, Ricky must have had a pretty good life. Going back to the early '90's, he was a fixture at National Doubles, and I don't remember him ever being down.

It was great to see how his friends took up for him, and how the disc golf community stepped up to help the last several months. It must have been a real comfort to him and his family.

Not that we needed another reminder that life is short and precious... or to be thankful for the time we have here with each other. Dee and I will say a special prayer.

thank you John and I never got to say CONGRATS to you and Dee on getting married sure makes life easier when you have someone you love beside you to spend it with. See you on the course somewhere.

I have been putting together our taxes for last year and I am working on our medical portion and am still finding receipts.. and so far our out of pocket expenses for prescription co-pays, Dr. co-pays and hospital bills and all the other medical related expenses is over 15,000.00, and it was all paid. We never would have made it without the clubs support. There were a couple of months we went with very little income and we really appreciated the assistance that the RR Disc Golf Club was able to provide.

all we have a fellow Round Rock disc golfer that has been diagnosed with lung and partial brain cancer. We just found this out Saturday afternnoon. he is in Austin's seton hospital and needs your PRAYERS he is in room...



On Wednesday I would like to collect money to send Leslee flowers. This time must be especially hard for her. Nothing can make this easier, but the contiued love and support from the dragon family can always lift her spirits.

1 year anniversary of Ricky passing was yesterday.. :( you are missed my friend but never forgotten..
