OK gang here we go.
It's in the fire and starting to boil. This thing could get real hot.I've talked to reps of Ft Smith Airport about sponsorship. We'll see,I've asked for $2,000.
I've spoken to Cumulus Radio,That's a possable go as well. They'll also grab sponsors.
Then there's all the little sponsors from last year. That added up to a grand itself.
I've got a monster of a C Tier in mind here.Keep your fingers crossed. If this thing happens the way i'm hoping for it'll blow you away
Like I said before,My goal is to double last years numbers all the way around.I need your help. The field should max out at 90.It better.
ADDED CASH IS N DA HOUSE.

I just hope that the Axis of Evil team of Two Finger Haters otherwise known as AlmaWillie and FurDookie realize that they don't stand a chance this year, If they concede to me now, I'll grant mercy and allow them to join my gallery of caddies, one can place my marker for me as the other wipes down my plastic. It might be as close as they can come to victory

I look forward to an Alma Arkie breakfast of eggs and bacon. I'll let Willie and you decide on which one of you gets to be scrambled or fried. The way Tubehutt plays in Hogland makes him the toast. I'm sure all your wives will be happy when you discover how futile it was and decide to quit after the first round and run home to mow the lawn instead. Everybody needs something to be proud of. :D

I'm making a huge push for sponsorship right now.The flyer should be up by next week.If all goes well it'll have all the goods and then some on it.
Looks like this year is gonna be the real deal due to the fact that we have sponsors calling us .
Rotan called me yesterday and offered sponsorship and titledisc services.I'll send him the info as well early next week to get at least a few weeks online registration involved.
Anybody missing this one is a real bonehead for sure.I'm sure some will qualify. That's cool, Alma will kick A reguardless.

I like option #2, but I'd be scared that the money would somehow be <font color="brown"> dirty money </font> :D
I'd figure that you could use the e-mail address listed on the flyer to ask P-Ditch or maybe, being seasoned PDGA professionals (at least one of you) would look in the "tour" section of this website to locate the phone number, like ya'll don't already know it, (sorry Pitch, secrets out) but then I realized that it probably isn't your fault as the so called education that ya'll might have recieved was faulty being that Okies are mentally challenged from all the inbreeding and such, so I decided to update the flyer with all this new info and post it for you, I put a picture on it so that you 2 idiots would realize that it had something to do with disc golf, I'm assuming that your hooked on phonics is working well and you can make out the rest of it being that you've communicated this far with written words. Now I've got to go post it in all the other dang places also :p

Hey Tom...ya ought to contact titledisc or find out from mr. twisted if he's gonna get his thing goin', credit card/debit is convenient for alot of folks
twoputtok
Jun 07 2007, 04:37 PM
Just a simple link to a pdf document on their website would be fine. We could print it and then snail mail it.
With the work that went into the Flyer, how hard could it be. Even for Pitch.

You're right Dave. You would think these guys could put together a electronic entry form we could print out. But then I guess they can only power their Commadore 64's off the battery for only so long before they have to put the battery back in the truck and drive around awhile to recharge it. :o
Is the ace pot and CTP included in the fee or are they going to wait until an Okie hits it and then say that the ace pot was an extra fee?..... :(
Will there be a monster truck rally or amatuer mud wrestling contest afterwards?....
Are the trophys going to be biodegradable? :(
What do the losers get???
Is anybody's sister up for grabs? :)
Are Baby Ruth bars allowed in the water park next door?
Is it ok to plant crops on the course for harvest next year? :D
We Okies need answers now!!!!
evandmckee
Jun 07 2007, 05:45 PM
Yes to everything ;)
actually, Pitch will have to field those questions, I'm but a lowly volunteer /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I can answer that the trophies will be biodegradable, If Furdog wins one it will already be in a state of biodegrading (dogs like to eat it)
I did speak with him and he's been talking to Rotan about a possible online reg option
I would suggest as of now to either wait for Pitch to reply, or stuff an envelope with a check and a letter stating your name, contact info and division, put a stamp on it (with correct postage) and drop it in the mail.....
just to play devil's advocate, I'm sure that Pitch would offer all divisions but they'd probably have to have so many to make a division, i.e. adv. male masters, grandmaster, ect., of course if someone were to enter one of those and it not make, they'd have to play whatever their rating or am/pro status would allow (if they are PDGA members)
not sure about ace pot, Pitch?
we'll then track pre-regs with our arkie palm pilots :D

Thanks for your help Willie. The course should be shaping up real nice from here on in.
Remember the tee sign spots. Those signs should be seen by next week.
Holes 10 thru 18 are the biggest concerns. If anybody wants to do some damage it'll be on the back 9.
Weedeaters will rule this area.Granules for both ivy and bugs will follow shortly.Hit everything in the fairways and then some.Just imagine where the bad shots will wind up.
DO NOT cut the monster vines on the 1st new hole.Rip apart everything else. And the one that follows as well.
Here i'll make it simple.
#1
Weedeat hill and sides of fairway.
#2 #3 #4 #5 #6 Mow (Pull rubber matt froim the bottom of the hill back up top for new #5 tee pad.Stake it down. Those kids will throw anything off that cliff they can.The spikes are up there.
Also #6 Weedeat an area 30' in diamater around the pin.
#7
Pull the front rubber matt away(Damaged by mower)Then move the good matt up in it's place.
#8
Mow and weedeat fairway and hill
#9
Weedeat tee area. The tee pad will be backed up about 30' from the original area. It's already there. It needs leveling a little also.
#10
WEEDEAT !!! Very bad.
#11
Same thing
#12
(Lakeside) Weedeat walking path.Kinda wide if you can. This water area should have good visibility.(Critters if ya know what I mean)There's also a short tee position(Remember? Yellow rocks)Groom this area also for the beginners.
#13
New hole.Weedeat mainly.Do not remove any branches or those vines. There's a hogwire type fence right behing the pin.Leave it.One piece will be placed along the line running towards the firing range to make a definate OB line. You'll see what I mean. Some already exists on this line.
#14
WEEDEAT BIG TIME.We will also trim a few litle branches to make the fairway a little more noticable.I wanna see the pin on this one.Just a little.
#15
This hole is OK.
#16
Dogleg.Weedeat fairway.it's not bad at all except where they will miss the turn and run straight towards the water.Think about where most amatures will go.
#17 #18
Weedeat.BIGTIME.Especially the #17 pin area.IVY is bad there.
Blow it away. We'll throw tons of killer here for sure.
Well there you have it.No big deal.Just a few days and it'll be done.

We checked in with Meador's Inn today and their rates start at 39.95 per room. The lady said that would get you into a 1 or 2 bed room, so take your pick for that rate.
Their reservation number is : 1-800-628-6881 and it is the one in Alma, or call them direct at : 1-479-632-2241.
They are sponsoring the tourney so it would be great to fill them up!
Also they are only a par 6 to Hole # 5 (where #1 used to be), so it makes it easy to play the course.

I'm thinking that the parking lot would be the place for a pop-up camper (practically on the course), no roads or traditional camping spots (normally can't camp, the Mayor's making an exception for the tourney) but plenty of places to pitch a tent, just don't pitch them where they can interfere with play, be looking for some fun rounds Friday evening :)

Ok. I got my room booked for Friday night at the Meadors. A single was $36.95. They said if I bring my guitar I could play for my meals so sorry Tom the concert at you place just got cancelled. I don't know if you and Wise are going to play but if you do I'll bring a violin and some cheese to go with all the wine Twoputt and you will be spilling on the course. If you want I'll bring some percussion and cowbells to help bring a little drama to the awards celebrations. :)
As far as Mellissa goes, I think Dave would make a better caddie because he's used to working on his knees and would probably do it for free. :o

OK had to swing by the course this afternon and check out the OB line Tom put in today on Hole 18 (Thank NWArk guys for saying that hole was too easy ) Half of you guys were OB on your drives last Tuesday, hope you have fun in the tourney!!!
Anyway, there were three guys up from Conway (maybe Clarksville??) trying to find their way around the course. (Tom, Evan, any news on tee signs??? I'd be willing to put them up if we have them now) I really felt bad for them, as none of us had seen fit to put this news on here........
The Course No Longer Starts In The Park!!
Now to get to hole one, after turning off of Hwy 71, you go on past the entrance to the park to the top of the hill (100 yards or so) and turbn left at the "T" in the road there. Go up that road to the water towers and turn in just past them into the new parking area. There is a new pavilion, which is where registration will be, just under the hill there.
Those guys had walked up the hills from the bottom looking for Hole 1!! Got their exercise in for sure!!

This is why I'm coming down on Friday.....Looks like the Arkies are purposely trying to hide the course to confuse the Okies that will be driving in on Saturday morning. No tee signs and they're hiding registration and hole # 1 outside the park. Thank you Willie for spilling the beans. :).....I'm sure Tom and Evan were up to something by hiding those details from those of us in search of the Holy Hog in spinach town. I'm sure the tee signs will designed in a way that only Arkies know how to interpret and all out of towners will be guided over the cliffs to meet their grisly ends. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I haven't said much on this because I know that pulling some big name guys, which I love to watch play, it is going to take money. After a few of them seeing the payouts to Pro being high, maybe they will begin to consider us more for the tourneys. I know we are a long way from pullin in Climo but we have to start somewhere.
However, I will agree that I would like to see the money spread more around, instead of it just being flat-out, all the added cash goes to the pro-purse. I know that's not what is actually happening, because I saw the breakdown of the cash that was added and where it was going, but it is where most of it is going.
This to me is not a problem, because I figure I won't cash anyway. But I do think that it should be more evenly spread, because the Pro's do only make up a small percentage of the total players.
I will use a case in point with the women's division. At the last tourney my wife took second and received 3 discs for it, while seond in Am's took at least 10 discs. I and others explained to her that it is because of the fact there are not many women in the tourney, so their entry fee money didn't amount to much to make for payouts. But then we turn around and the Am divisions put the most money into a tourney but the pros get the biggest payout. That is definetely a double standard.
Tom, you know me and know this is not a shot at you. It is just stating the facts of all of my previous tourneys. I know that the pro level guys won't show for a $50 payout. I want to see them there, and I understand the logic. You are doing a great job with the tourneys and you always take care of everyone involved. As you read earlier, this is something my wife has noticed, and I want to appear to be a loving husband looking out for my woman!! :D Hope she only reads the beginning of this!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

amateur:
noun (plural amateurs)
Definition:
1. somebody doing something for pleasure: somebody who does something for pleasure rather than payment
Instead of paying Ams anything, they should all receive FAT players packs (Gifts from sponsors for attending the event) and trophies only for the top 3-4 finishers.
With this in mind the Am entries should be lowered also.
Not that Alma's entries are too high. I don't think they are but overall, Ams have always had to pay more than they should because most TD's don't take the time to go out and get cash sponsors to use for the pro purses. They usually just take from the Ams to pay the pros. That is wrong.
Now, before you go off Tom, you're not one of those Td's. You went out and did the right thing and raised the added cash needed to attract the Pros with out taking from the Ams. Thats how it should be done. But not the norm.
Not even in Tulsa. :(

Don't give me your lame definitions:
Street definition:
Pro - Prostitute, hooker, someone you meet in Nevada.
You guys are taking what I said all out of proportion. I just thought what Mitch was doing at his tourney was a fun idea. Whether youre a pro or not everyone has a chance of winning some cash and its not always based on skill level.
I had no added cash at Chandler and still managed to bring in Coda and Kevin. Maybe those guys just didnt have anything to do that weekend, I dont know but nobody griped to me about there being no added cash. Im sure they probably figured that out before they came. I didnt take any out of the Ams to pay pros either. Instead I bought stupid stuff for everyone like glow sticks, Furdog fans, and 9 new baskets to extend the existing course from 18 to 27 permanent for next year. :p
Next year I'm going to do cash drawings. Maybe even get a portable Indian casino going on. :D
At States I threw in $45 in a shell game in which there were three winners and duh....two of those guys were pro.....
If you pros want free added cash solely for your division just because youre playing pro then why dont you pony up some extra cash amongst yourselves and bet each other? Or, you can do what Twoputt does and hang around 11th street and sooner or later some John might come by and make you an offer. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That is pretty much what is done now.
As for added extras like cash around the course, that is great. Just get a sponsor to put it up.
I'm just tired of Ams expecting big payouts and I felt the same way just last year when I was playing Am.
Ams shouldn't receive any payouts but they should receive FAT Players packs as a thank you for attending the event.
There is no clear cut way to fix it. The PDGA has created this mess in the first place.
TDs need pros to help draw ams. And yes it works. If there was another tournament near by with Climo, Shultz and others I would go there, even playing Am.
As it is now, Tds need ams because they are their bread-n-butter of the tournament due to the mark up on the pay out that the ams get.
Once tournaments can get outside sponsorship then and only then can they reudce the am entries, remove the payout and give them players packs. With the lower entries, you will get more ams playing and just maybe have the numbers that sponsors are looking for, so that they feel they are getting something for their support.

Man i'm glad i'm not being slammed here.No worries in my event guys and gals.
First of all everybodies gettin a shirt. It could have been more but I decided to hang on to the money to be spent on custom plastic and add it to the payouts.
$1,800 was added. It is covering the events bills.Shirts,Innova,PDGA,So National, etc etc etc. This will make for a great paying event in ALL areas.I have over $1,000 in WHOLESALE merchandise. That's about $2,000 in RETAIL value. Then there's the extras.AMs will get paid plus I have reserved an extra stash just in case.I've never wanted to be one of those who got the bullit for being selfish.Never will either.
PROS WILL GET PAID.It's always been that way and always will.
Pro golfers play for loot and will travel to get it.I'm doubling last years numbers in all areas.
You'll definately all leave with a smile.(Especially if you win)
Now keep me out of this debate.Extra cash is best when coming from sponsors.NOT AM fields. The relationships of all golfers matters to me.Some AM golfers simply shouldn't be AM.Some will never be able to advance. This debate will go on forever.
My concern is that everybody get a chance to compete and go home with something.Even a little something more.It brings them back next time.
;)
I'M FREAKIN READY.LET THE GAMES BEGIN !!!!!

Sorry Tom. I wasn't trying to slam you. :(
Mess with your mind a little bit....yes... :D
Slam you???....no. :(
Sometimes I feel that doing an event is like having a party for your friends. Even then there is a fear factor because friends will invite friends and all the sudden it's like a box of chocolates..."You never know what you're going to get."
Trying to please everyone will never work. I told my big brother that I was the alpha male but at the same time lost faith in my sister and would always tell her that she was adopted.....
When I read your earlier post I must have been confused when you said $1000 going to the top pro player. I don't think most street pro's in Vegas make that much a night but if that's the case then it's "One...Two...Three what are we fighting for???...Don't tell me I don't give a XXXX!...Next stop is Vietnam".....
I'm coming over for fun....and that being said then...in dog words....I'm coming over to enjoy the day. But....barking at the pro's is still a part of my neighborhood....and I will never stop chasing windmills.
Extra cash for pros is fine.
Tax deductions for the rich and famous in America is fine.
Staying at a Holiday Inn the night before a PDGA tourney???...Priceless. ;)

What a great day it was! I heard many good comments! The course was nice!
We had a phenomenal turnout of women ... 8!!! It was great meeting those of you who I was able to meet. I wish I could've played with some new girls though...that was part of the anticipated excitement. I understand, though, some of the new ladies didn't want to play in one division. It would've been nice if the first round would've been mixed up a little though...then sort us out in order of the top scores. Oh well, none-the-less, I had a ton of fun! Not sure when Ashley will get on the board to post next, but I can definitely speak for her and say that she had a blast too! And she wasn't expecting a payout at all! She was excited to get two discs! My payout was great as well! Thanks, Evan, for the trophies...they are AMAZING, as always!
Thanks to Pitch, Brenda, your daughter (sorry I don't know her name), the guy that ran the "horseshoe of fire", and any other staff I forgot to mention! It was a well ran tourney from my perspective!
Congrats Kevin and MC on your wins! And Big Dave for giving MC a good run!
Boy am I glad I chose to play Alma instead of Hooters/Nixa ... I heard they played one round then got canceled due to bad weather! That sucks...such a long drive for just one round!

Thanks for a great tournament. It was fun. 8 women at a tournament is great.
Not everyone got a shirt. Amy and I forgot to pick ours up. :( I think they should of been handed to us after we registered. I do not know. Anyway we did not get one. We would love a shirt with popeye on it. Is there anyway you could get 2 shirts two NWA for us girls. That would be great. Thanks. :)

Unfortunately they are all gone. :(
I even gave mine away.70 were ordered and 74 showed.Whoever didn't get one will be taken care of next time.Sorry.

Thanks, Pitch, Evan and all of the volunteers that pulled this event off. Especially those that spent the many hours it took to groom the course. It looked fantastic. ;)
I know we brought the rain over from Tulsa but we just wanted to scare you, we always had planned on it being over by the time the second round started. :D
The course played great, even the 126ft hole presented problems for players. I was able to avaoid all ob the first round but the second round bit me, HARD! :(
Congrats to all the winners and Congrats to the local club. Job well done!
And a BIG thanks to all of the sponsors of the event. It made the trip over one to remember. :D

And the PAYOUT was freaking unbelievable, I wish the payouts in Tulsa were that good. I don't think I've ever got all premium discs in a payout before, un freaking believable. I will be back next year fo shizzle!!

Good luck finding payouts as good as that one!!!! Absolutely sick payout, I'll guess that it will be the highest amount for any 1 day event throughout the country this year.

Thanks everyone for the stamp of approval.
There are several concerns going into something like this.First of all the approval on the course.
Coming from those of you who have played some of the best around, It means alot to me to see that my ideas about course design work.
I like to see them flow simply and try to make the experience one that demands all you have in your bag and more. Some of the shots I use at Alma I hadn't used in years.Yes this will make for some exellent golfers in the future. There's a few kids out there that have the right stuff and they're on their way.
Sponsorship was the key to the payout. It doesn't take as much as one may think. It's easy to sell something you know is a benefit to the community and the people in those communities.
Irens diner probably had one of the biggest sunday nights ever.I think she'll be up for dishing out twice the cash for next years sponsorship. The Meadors Inn as well.
Next year my plans are to go ahead and shoot for the 2 day event.(I'm renting the pool for 2 hours for the tourney folks and friends on saturday night.NICE!!!)
If I double the money it'll make for an awesome weekend event.
$5,000 was my goal for 2007(I was just a couple hundred short).$8,000 to $10,000 for next year.
Think I can do it?
I know I could if I spent more than 2 weeks on putting it together.
Everybody has been great in supporting me over the last couple of years.I will continue to do whatever I can even after my term has expired.Big plans are in the works.
See ya everybody.I'm off to the lake wed to meet up with a couple fellow golfers for some fun in the sun.
Life is good.

The real backwoods arkies might have as many as 6 or 7 toes on each foot, the rest of us mostly work in the timber industry so we might only have 3 or 4 fingers left, it kinda averages out :D

H?ey, he is just kidding around. HOTB is a great tourney, I hope you reconsider coming. We did all we could to get Alma ready for the tourney and make it a great tourney for everyone. Jul 14 2007, 12:21 AM
Willie...Tom...Alma was fine. I love that someone else found the big snake on the path before I stepped on it. I think what some people (including myself) up here are just asking for is some type of posting (within your tournament thread) of the results. I understand it requires a computer and someone to type them in. :(... What a problem that must be for people that are still trying to understand Roman numerals. ;)...I've never understood them either. :(...Superbowl this and superbowl that,...I really don't care. If the Cowboys ain't in it then God is not watching and the whole county goes into recession and it's higher gas prices for everyone. :( ...It's not like us Okies or you Arkies really have a say in that anyway since neither of our states have a pro team anyway. ;)
For the most part up here in Tulsa we are just scared that we're going to die on some highway some where and we won't be know where we stood in our last PDGA tourney. It's so bad up here and people are so insecure that the last great self achievement of their lives might not get recognized, leads us to ponder, wonder, and selfishly expect a report of outcome right away....Just yesterday my Momma asked "Fudog???...What have you accomplished lately???"...I was so in despair for I had nothing great to report. :(....No promotion at work. No health problems to say have disappeared. ....No news on my last road trip to Arkyland.....I was barron like Death Valley in August. ...
It's not about winning or losing as Tom assumes. If I had any concern about my probable outcome I probably would not have wasted the time to drive down the night before, stay in a sponsor hotel, and have to dodge lot lizards wanting to know if I was their long lost cousin from Omaha. ;)...It's Alma by the way. Party town USA....just don't drink beer in the parking lot. ;)
It might be that some of us are such bored dumb donkeys up here that we have nothing better to do than type in the results of our daily mini's the day after. :(...Therefore we mistakenly expect it from everyone else.
We are lost in the search for truth but we fall short,...for we are still divided and consumed with the question on whether OJ did it or not.
I left Alma early because I has a bad case of "Monkey Butt" and as I passed the diner I saw Pitch in the window copying the results off the back of his hand and I pondered on whether I should stay and provide musical enlightenment and drum rolls for the victorious Okies that had traveled so little, to win so much. :)...And dummy me, up to that point I thought the greatest payout you could get west of Little Rock was a $2.99 steak & egg dinner after 11pm in downtown Vegas.
Tom is/and was a stellar representative for you Arkies. He talked the talk and walked the walk so I forgive him for not knowing how to type 76 (or some) results in a computer for us dumb, bored, and mis-understood Okies. Knowing that you would think that the government would give us more of a tax break and forgive us of all the unpaid child support and illegal rednecks that migrate to our state every year.
And....on a side note the guy can sing great and he'll offer you coffee in the morning but he don't cook breakfast and he don't know Barry Manilow.
Thank you Tom for a great tourney but next time I'm staying for the awards....And I'll be recording everthing you say. :D

First off, I won't make the HOTB because I have to work. Not beacause scores from the Alma greens were not posted. However, I am not upset about missing the event.
Second, I am a bitcher, I say what everyone else is thinking but wont say. That's what I do (right Ganzel).
Third, with regard to posting scores; sorry I do not think that its out of line to ask for them two weeks later. The main problem that I have is that the scores were NEVER posted. Not at the tournament in between rounds, and not at Ma and Pa's diner after the event. No body that I know has ever seen the scores. Just because I didn't win doesn't mean that I shouldn't get to see the scores, as a matter of fact I will be embarrased to see my score once hell actually does freeze over and we all get to see them.
Calling for scores on the message board is nothing new. If you got a problem with it post the scores, don't insult those that came out to support you.

18 Smileys!! :p Get some Gold Bond for your monkey butt. I take some to every tourney! It works miracles! I think disc golf could work out some sponsorship deal with them. Maybe get some in a players pack someday. I would like to see scores too. I wanna see how I dominated all those players that are "better" than me (like Jake and Barney). :o

Seriously man, are the scores going to be posted anytime soon. Did they really get thrown away in the trash?
It is what it is I guess...maybe next month when the new ratings are calculated the scores will be posted. That's my guess anyway.
It really is soooooo easy to post scores....it's a simple FTP process.

Fuzz on your peaches huh.
Boy you haven't got nearly enough fuzz on your peaches to compete against me in a battle of the wits.
Looks as if you need to stop spending so much time finding all 3 of those little whiskers and learn how to play golf.
My GOD people.
I spent countless hours putting this thing together.Took time away from responsabilities that could have produced me WAY MORE in my personal life.(Like spending time with my Wife and Kids)
Let's not forget the F'd up elbow that STILLS aches like H every day contributing to my sick performances at my rounds.
You guys make this seem so ridiculous.
I put together the best C Tier you've ever seen and all you can do is complain about the not posting of scores so you can see your ratings or who you may or may not have beat.
I tell you what peaches.Keep your (Censored by me but you get it) on your side of the line if you don't like it.
Better yet.Find those peaches you brag so much about and come over here and try to get some of this Arkie money we work so hard to scrape up for you to win.
Thanks Scott for the words.I realize that some of you poke around with this as fun. That's cool and obvious to see what your doing.I can take that and give it when it's for laughs.
But those of you who poke me in the wrong way are looking for nothing more than a shot from me about how weak you really are.
Fuzz on your peaches,That's funny.
Wasn't coming because you had to work,Even funnier.
Your not coming because you don't want someone to show you what a real pair are while they wipe you out at Ben Geren.

First of all what is this "battle of the wits" that you speak of? Is that some sort of chickenfighting competition? Or is it the one line make fun of my signature that you used over and over again? :p
I am not real sure why you want to single me out? I am not the only one one here that wants you to post the scores. I will tell you why I am on here giving you hell about it... Its because your attitude sucks. And you never once posted the scores, not even at the tournament.
How can it be the best C tier we have ever played when we never got to see any scores? I tried to give you a compliment about the pro payout earlier, but I am done complimenting a pompous arse like yourself. Just add me to the growing list of people that think that Pitch is a douchebag.
As far as having someone wipe me out at your crappy Ben Geren course I am shure that it wouldn't be by you...but I do have something that you can wipe the next time i see you. ;)
Why don't you come over here and put your money where your no score postin mouth is...how about 100 bux at blackhawk..beyootch! :o

Now I know your blowin smoke.
First of all you'd have to STEP UP to even play against me at any tournament.
And you honestly think my event wasn't good because I didn't post the scores?Wait till next years Alma Greens.I'll have to cap the field as soon as I post the flyer.
Hey Jake,Try and run an event some time while balancing all the other responsabilities of everyday life on top of it.You'll get your ratings. You'll get the info you so desperately need soon enough.
Matter of fact I can probably guess yours dropped from a 940ish to a sub 800.Alma kicked your arse. ;)
As for that $100.I'll take that bet.I'd actually been playing my best golf ever until I had to do someone elses job at Alma and pound in 18 sign posts with a 10lb sledge hammer. But my elbow will heal.
And I know that there's a handfull that think i'm an arse. Can't please em all and really don't care as you can see.You try and tackle what I have in the last 3 years. If that's all the respect you can muster for someone that's given all that I have over here then you really don't have any buisness playing on these fields anyway.Your gonna wind up doing the same thing to the next guy so why even show up.Nobody needs to hear that after working their tail off just to give you a decent tourney and course to play.
Know what's cool for me right now,All I have to do anymore is practice and show up.That's right,I get to actually become a regular player and not have to think about all that's going on and play my game.Such relief.
Now you'll geyour chance at Ben Geren,Talequah will do.Or when I walk onto Blackhawks field again. But you'll get your chance fancy feet.
Now do something real interesting.Go run an event and quit running your mouth.Go rally up a couple grand in sponsorship for one of your events and put all that talk to better use.

I think we should all just drop it. Obviously Pitch already sent the TD report in, which is very time consuming in itself. Some TD's have been known to run off with the sanctioning fees, renewal fees and merchandise money only to be never heard from again. Atleast Pitch took the time to complete those hairy pdga TD reports.
I'm looking at the bright side now, other than scores not being posted at tournament central Pitch ran a fantastic event that I plan on going back to. It is what it is, we should just move on and look forward to the next event.
Sorry if I offended you Pitch, next time if you want my help posting scores I will gladly give you a hand.
Being a TD can be a thankless job, I just don't want this to result in Pitch not running tournaments anymore.

This is the second post i have seen about this article, that is pointed towards the AlmaGreens or Pitch. This article is based on the fact that the TD does not send in the report in a timely manner. I just want to point out that this is not the case with AlmaGreens. The TD report was sent in within 2 or 3 days of the tournament. The thing that has slowed it down is the fact it was done by hand and sent in by mail, instead of on the computer. It is obvious to me, based on previous experience and the contact I have had with the PDGA, that it just takes longer for them to get these reports online. I know the mail time would slow it down by a few days, but it should get up pretty quick after that. Once it is sent in there is nothing else a TD can do but wait for the PDGA to do their part.

Sorry but get with the times guys. Computers are and will continue to be a growing part of your life. Even in Arkansas. ;)
The report should have been entered into a computer, then uploaded to the PDGA. The PDGA, now has to take the time to enter all of the report that you guys took the time to complete by hand and send snail mail instead of having it there instantly.
Them taking the time to do that is not very high on their priority list. Thats why they provide the computer spread sheets.
Not only that but if you guys want to continue to grow your tournaments and attract more and more players, then you're going to have to get a lap top to the event and enter each rounds scores, this will let players see what is happening with all divisions, not just on their card. With this tournament having such a Fantasticly HUGE FAT payout , I would have thought you would want all of the world to see it as soon as possible. As it is now, sooo much time will lapse by before the results are posted that no one is going to see what a great job of rasing cash that you all did. :(
If you want it to grow, then use the technology that is needed in today's society.
If not, you may have just reached your peak and will soon be passed up by other tournaments. There are too many to choose from and players want bang for their buck. And they want to see results, right after they happen, not two months later.

Guys I had the results finished and sent to the PDGA monday after the event.
I didn't do it correctly so the following monday I called them to see if they'd gotten them.(They didn't)
So I had the gal help me to get it to them right then and there.(They did)
Now if it's not there it's the PDGA not me.
They have had the results since monday the 9th of July.
Thanks Willie for trying to defend me but I didn't snail mail it.
Next year we will have somebody helping me out and send it all in quicker.I don't even plan on playing next year just so i'll have more time to focus on running the event.
Wise you need to ease up on your comments.Your kinda gettin under my skin.Really,I'm serious.
Now if you guys would like to get on someones tail try Rotan.
He'd promised us sponsorship,Got his name on the shirt in a nice sized text and never sent a thing.
Funny how you guys target things like this but don't really know everything that went down over this event.
It'll happen next year and be even stronger than the last.I made a simple mistake and corrected it as quickley as I could.
Some people really just blow you off and have nothing to offer in return.
Not even an apology.
I'm not PO'd. I'm really not .Just thought i'd let you know that I wasn't the only one who screwed up that weekend.
Oh yeah my elbow is still killing me from all the work done out there before the event.
Wasted my chances there and at the playoffs. That's OK.Next year I get to play golf and give TD's a hard time .
I thought it was funny the comment about people wanting those results and didn't even try to make worlds.Just get on the list.
Too funny.

What in the hell did I say in the above post that is Sooooo wrong Tom?
Sorry I'm getting under you skin but I paid money and traveled to an event, and as a participant, I have every right to voice my opinions and/or cirtisize any event that I play.
You as the TD must learn to accept this from any of the players. Other wise how will you know what they like or didn't like?
Every time some one has critisism, you get on here and try to defend your actions or slam them for whining about it. They're not whining, they have a right to ask?
Get used to it or quit being a TD. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I "TRIED" to get them in 2 days after the event. And when I found the time to call the PDGA it was done so then.
Dave you should know how it feels to have a bunch of people up your A when you did something (Accidently) wrong.Doesn't feel good does it.Especially when you tried your best to make the event cool.

Man man O man.
I tell you what,If the course isn't in shape next year i'll be freakin screamin about it.I can't believe how badly my arm hurts "STILL"
I'll be lucky to play HOTB if it doesn't start healing soon.(No more sledge hammers for me)
Seroiusly,If Mayor Ballentine doesn't get with it on that course and keep it up we'll be saying goodbye to Alma Greens.I'm not gonna go thru that again. It's hard enough doing everything else.
Since this will be my ONLY tournament to direct i'll probably go for some nicer players packs and such.
CFR's,Shirts,this and that.
If I have just a little more time to devote to this event it could kick A!
I had all that done in about a month.Just think what 6 months could produce.
I want Alma to be Arkansas' biggest and fattest. It could if I put my mind to it.We'll see.

You'd think with the amount of money we're paying for dues they'd have someone posting this stuff quicker.

It's not the PDGA's fault, Pitch...i'm surprised you put the blame on them  they put an application in place where you can upload scores immediately following an event. What else are they supposed to do?
If you know how to point and click a mouse you will find the uploading of scores process very simple to do. I will gladly show you how to do it for your next sanctioned event.
Also, scoreports are a good tool for posting scores at the actual event. We can probably bring a couple down for you next time if you want.
