I was just curious if registered pros can still play in the advanced division if there rating is under 955 like we did last year??? I'm just trying to clear up some confusion.

It is in the new rules book. Not the book for last year's new rules but the other book for the rest of the new rules.

Is there a new rule book for 2007 ?

No new rule book. It may be reprinted but only typos will be corrected. However, the Tour rules each year are now considered an extension of the rulebook with more competition related rules and guidelines found there. Yes, pros below 955 rating can play Advanced.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Dave Gentry or someone pretty official posted somewhere else on this website that the rules in the new rule book were going to be published in booklet form this year so TDs could have both the rules and the other rules handy at all tournaments.

what a concept - rules in writing. bet they'll still be a bunch of td's that rule based on a "precedent" of something they heard that someone heard a rules committee member say during an allman brothers concert.

I was talking about the basic rulebook not being redone. The competition rulebook supplement may be published in booklet form but I haven't heard that one.

it's published in booklet form when you print it off your computer to keep in your bag along with your rulebook...
<font color="red"> c'mon people let's make 2007 the year people actually read what is written instead of just going off of what "somebody said so" </font>
print the manual, put it next to your rulebook and take it out to show the first person who tries to call something because "somebody said so"...
ESPECIALLY at big events, majors and national tours....
we used it 3 times in the first round in my group at the memorial last year to overturn "somebody said so" calls
i can't imagine how many times 1-2 strokes are lost by people that play by the rulebook versus people in their division that play by "someone said so" rules or play in groups where people are scared to make a call :p

It sure would be nice if the PDGA linked the competition manual to one of the bulleted Tabs on the website, like maybe the Rules Tab

We have a few 'older' Pros in the area here. Its been so long since they have played they never had 'ratings'. The question is how do we determine what division they play in if they decide to make a come back this year?

TDs have the authority to allow members or nonmembers without ratings to enter whatever division they feel is appropriate.

Yes...BUT you would now be a PRO.
You would be able to play AM using the "Pro playing Am rules" HOWEVER you would NOT be able to go to Am Worlds, or Am USDGC.

Let me get this straight....My rating is 943 and I cashed in Open in my last tourney (which I took the cash) . There is an Am Tournament this weekend. Can I play Advanced?
