I'm not out much these days fellas, please remember to spread the word to the locals who may not know about it. This is a great time for them to compete with nothing at stake and for a good cause.

I know we've got some Houston folks who plan to attend.

And ladies, we are looking to head out to Circle R on Sunday. I talked to LaLa, and like last year, we will play one round on each course, all ladies invited. This should become an annual event for the girls, help make that happen.

More information about this great event:

Live Oak Ice Bowl Benefiting the Educational Disc Golf Experience

Saturday, January 27th in Live Oak, Texas

Pool House is at 7901 Shin Oak Dr in Live Oak, 78233 (Mapquest)

SIGN-UP PRIOR TO 8:30 (please, please, please)

Player Meeting @ 9:00

(2) Rounds of 18 for everybody
1st round for ranking
2nd round will be Nassau on each card (see below)

Pro $35
All Amateurs and Ladies $20 and will receive an Innova Disc

*$5 of every entry and raffle proceeds will go to the Educational Disc Golf Experience to help bring disc golf into the schools of Texas.

*We will also be donating food to the local food bank again this year so please bring dry goods and canned food. (Raffle tickets for food donations)

We have lots of CTP's and other fun planned. Innova Champion has sponsored a basket for the raffle again this year. Please bring anything else you would like to donate for the cause. Any unwanted Christmas gifts are also welcome as well. Come on Sonic Blade!

Looks like Texas Roadhouse and Sweet Leaf Tea are back on board for a terrific hot lunch for just a $5 donation that also goes to EDGE.

Nassau format worked great last year so we will do the same this year. Everyone plays a regular first round. Second round will see each card have a value placed on it. The better your first round is; the more value available to your second round card. Then, the Nassau second round will award the best score on your card for every six holes played and the total score for four chances to win prizes or money. Think of the second round as three mini rounds of six holes and an overall score award.

Come on out and have a great time for a great cause!

Yeti! If you show up for either of the events this weekend will you be taking registrations then? I'm sure a lot of golfers would take advantage of the opportunity and it would ease the load on you the morning of the Ice Bowl.

Thanks Corey, good idea. Unfortunately with the weather so uncertain I can't commit at this point. We should be good to go, keep helping spread the word, thanks.
The city will be putting some mulch down. We just need to hope the rain this weekend isn't much and that we get a couple of drying days in there prior to the event.

It was good to see some the gang this weekend at UC. Guess we should have played in the mud since the Saints decided to slip around in it as well :(

Texas Roadhouse and Sweet Leaf Tea are joining us again this year for a great donation of hot burgers, dogs, chili pie and smooth drinkin' Sweet Leaf Tea for lunch. Lunch will only be $5 with the money going to EDGE.
Gotta shout out Innova, Twin Parks and Marshall Street for some great sponsorhsip for the event so far!

Yeah, I did an interview with WOAI the other day. They couldn't tell me when it would air. It was a two parter, a nice plug for the Ice Bowl and the growth of disc golf in the San Antonio area; and then a short Q&A for sniglets on the 50th Anniversary of the Wham-O Frisbee. He asked where will the Frisbee be 50 years from now? I told him 50 years from now the Frisbee will still live on, but there will be a disc golf course in every city in America and folks will be watching discs born from the Frisbee fly through the air on national television regularly.
We gots to dream don't we :D

We should have some Ice Bowl discs available for purchase. Ams will get a disc in their player package and will get Ice Bowl discs while they last. If we run out we have other options.

We have great looking Ice Bowl Pro Wraiths and Ching color Flat Rocs!

If you want to buy one, purchase early, while they last :D

Again, we have player packages for everyone this year. With the oddball number of donations from some sponsors, the early birds will get the worms. (That's the folks that don't arrive later) ;)

Thanks Jay and Des for having such a smooth little Icebowl.

I had a great time playing with Bird, PdP, and the great L.T.!!

I never asked but, I know I have played some other holes on that course. I only played them once before, I think I remember something about a clowns mouth hole and a big dogg~legg right hole and some other challenging holes. Are they still there or was it too muddy to play them?

Much Thanks to the Reading's, I had a great time playing with Jeff (One Good Gisc Golfer), Pete and Larry. Even missing that easy $20 putt and giving the money to Larry was fun, but not that fun. You are correct about playing other holes before at Live Oak. The holes you are speaking of are still there and were not played (TD Decision). See everyone next year....

Hey Jeff, I'm gonna get some of my money back from you this year. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif ;)

Good to hear you got your bag back Charlie.
