Folks,
If you are interested in being an important part of making sure that Chavez Ridge becomes a permanent course - come on up and help out tomorrow - Friday the 15th. We will be compacting the finished trails with these cool zamboni like machines!
Don't really need tools (maybe your gloves and a rake if it is easy to pack). We will be running three vibratory plate compactors down the trail to compact it. Nice plastic and lunch for volunteers.
On Friday Dec 15th I plan to be out there by 9 am. Homer will bring the 3 compactors (rental donated by Home Depot in Burbank!)
We will pack down those trails!!
Give me a call on my cell if you can make it.
Cliff's cell 323-574-7678
Directions;
110 south; exit Academy (near Dodger Stadium). At 2nd stop sign, right on Solano then quick right at light on Park Dr. into Elysian Park. Park 0.1 mile on the right near restrooms. Follow 3rd base line up to unmarked trail that climbs to 1st tee.
BUT - to get up top - you can continue up past the playgrounds there to a right heading up to the ridge. Stay right and that road takes you to the ridge road up near hole #6. Park here.
