Now you see why most Arkies look at bologna and consider it an Arkansas Steak Dinner. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am a Willamette golfer... My home course is Willamette Park, my secondary being Adair village. I'm here to claim this thread in the name of all Willamette dg'ers, even if they aren't using the PDGA forums.

I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with the traffic over at Willamette for it being Oregon in the dead of Winter... But at least the days are getting longer now, so it's all uphill from here.

If you live in Corvallis, visit First Alternative Co-op over on 3rd street and check out some discs. We have the largest selection of discs in the city, mostly Innova... however I'm proud to announce that the Co-op is now the FIRST carrier in town of the Gateway line! Come spring we will be adding yet another shelf of discs, probably pushing our disc capacity from 250 to 375 or 400.... And if you need anything ordered for you, just ask.

The Willamette course fared pretty well during that rager of a storm... Some fallen branches, older trees in the woods, but luckily only one basket injured. A MASSIVE tree almost took out hole #12, missing it by 1 or 2 feet...Unfortunately, a seperate branch knocked it pretty hard, and now it's slightly crooked, but nothing too bad... The rest of the holes are no worse for the ware, but there is debris about. Pin placement right now is the easiest I've seen since August, when I started playing at Willamette... 3, maybe 4 holes you have a legitimate chance of acing, and 2 more that with luck or a large arm you could probably hit... Not easy, but definately not playing extremely hard right now. Set your PR's, who cares if it's raining? It's Oregon!

That's all for now, if you use the Willamette Park course, please chime in, and if you're part of the club, give a blurb about how to join, where you meet, etc.... I hope there are people besides me that want to know.

First, you can contact Jay Sexton of the WDGC at hexagon@exchangenet.net and ask about joining. I would do it now since they are talking about uping the dues for absolutely no reason.
Second, Every hole is easily aceable in every position except hole three. I guess a lefty just doesn't have a good route on that one!!

Thanks for the tip...

If I saw anyone (Or heard, if you were watching from the tee) ace #9 in its current position, I would crap myself

I lived in Portland and enjoyed some of the courses up there. I have not played Adair or Willamette, but will make a point to check it out next time I'm in Oregon.
If you find yourself in Portland Oregon, may I recommend Pier Park and Milo McIver. Those are GREAT courses. I live in San Diego now and play Morley Field. I kinda miss not having to pay to play and then wait 5-10 minutes at every hole. One round of 19 took over 3 hours...

Long story short, take advantage of the courses available to you while you are still a local.
