I've been kicking this idea around now for a couple of weeks and asked around a little bit yesterday at Lago about doing a skins match over the Holiday break. If enough interest is shown I would run 2 divisions. Pro(Dragon) division $50 a head, Am(Gecko) $25. This would be open to anybody that wanted to play. We would have to have to have a commitment from quite a few folks to pull it off. I was thinking this is how it would go:
1. 6-8 man cards, flip or draw straws for cards
2. predetermined amount for each hole, set as event nears
3. sudden death for ties at end, if you don't match best score on hole19 then your out
4. Looking at Jan 1 for the event
5. Wilco course
6. 2 meter rule plus all PDGA rules apply
7. no cancellations because of weather unless course is closed

So let's do this!!!!!

Why 6-8 man cards?

So each card can play for $300. I will make 6 man cards not 8.
I put some numbers to it yesterday and the ideal amount would be $60 & $30, but it's gonna work at $50 and $25 a head. Instead of having the event on the 1st, it would draw more people if we had it on the 31st.

I've had a few calls about it so far so it looks like this will happen. I'll post everything else sometime today.

Here is all the details for the skins match.

Pro's $50 entry--Ams $25 entry-NO ACE POT
December 31, 2006 @ Wilco Park 8:30 sign-up, 8:45 draw for cards, 9:00 start.

6 man cards Pro's will play for $300 a card and Ams will play for $150 a card.

Rules-
1. 2 meter rule in effect and all pdga and park rules apply.
2. Holes 1-6 Pro's $10 a hole-Ams $12.50 a hole.
3. Holes 7-12 Pro's $15 a hole-Ams $5 a hole.
4. Holes 13-18 Pro's $25 a hole-Ams $7.50 a hole.
5. Pro cards will start on #1
6. Am cards will start on #7
7. Any skins that are pushed on the last hole will go to a sudden death playoff for all players involved with the best score on the last hole and played until there is a winner. Playoff holes to be determined at time of event.
8. Player will be required to pay park fee of $1.
9. Cards will be made starting with 6 people. After that they will be made out of the people that are left.
10. We will draw playing cards for how the cards are made.

So spread the word and if anyone wants to post this where more people will see it that would be great. I look forward to running this event so please make it easy for me and PM me or post here that you will be playing.

Yeah there is no way I would pay $50 to play 18 holes of skins, $25 yes $50 no..... I will put $50 up against anybody in the world for 2 rounds of heads up low score tho...Any takers? :D

I thought this would be a fun event and pro's wouldn't have a problem with a $50 entry. How many tournaments is everybody playing Dec. and Jan., which is another reason I thought $50 was a good number. I figured it was a fair price since there wouldn't be many of us competing in those months.The okies do there's for $90 a head, makes us look like a bunch cheap arses. Oh well, I guess putting up $50 for a chance at $300 doesn't sound to good to most of you, except for me and V. :oOh well, I'll try to break even playing the V-man.

Sounds to me like everyone other than the big ballers should be playing for the gecko skins @ $25 a man instead of the dragon skins @ $50 a man :D. Who knew something this simple could be such a pain in the #$*&$!. We should just go out of town and let everyone play for ashtray change instead. For real.

No mountains here, it's just the original idea was to play skins for big money. Sorry our ambition & lack of children doesn't fit with ya'lls ideas of what is fun & affordable. I'm sure this will all come together at a price you all can afford & everyone will have a great time. If I play the skins Ware it would be as a Dragon - I play Pro or nothing in every event/mini I play when divisions are offered.

Edman here- What about $30 man pro, $15 man am, 5 man cards($150 a card pro, $75 am, in my opinion would really be fun), and start matches at 10:30. If we all could agree on this I would be more than happy to run it. Let's have some fun and pay some bills. :)

Here's an idea if you care to entertain...instead of each hole being worth the same amount, how about breaking the amounts up into different values like say the examples below.

I don't thik I will be playing because of my back, so I would be more than happy to get relative scorecards made up and log all info into a computer as cards come in and get fire and food prepped and ready while everbody is playing, I ain't gonna have anything better to do anyways....

BTW, that is based on the $30 Pro and $15 Ams.

What does anybody think about breaking up the amounts played for? I can make score~tards eazy to score and tally so there isn't any confusion...

Jeff I like the idea but the only thing I can see is people might think short holes should be worth more and others will think that long holes should be worth more like ME :D

I wood have to fiddle the numbers a tad on the Open example to get them more even but, the AM example seemed to be good to go. The idea is to kinda spread the money according to difficulty of the hole. Nobody should be worried about the amounts on the holes. Keep it fair and clean and a little spin to boot, after~all it's the holidays right...
