We've waited long enough. We have some of the most active disc golfers in California. My league team, ODR has had meetings about it and taken notes of our ideas. Now we need to have a group meeting, to gauge SD interest, and hear more ideas. If you're interested in being involved , we'll be meeting on Dec 16th, after the Morley Monthly. Tell anyone who may be interested. Bring your ideas, some beers and an open mind. I'll bring a pencil :)

I have gotten a lot of emails and people asking were the park is. I assure you that once I have both the Rangers thinking DG is the greatest sport alive that everyone will be made aware of the location of the park! That being said, there are enough clues in the photos to figure out were it is! Please pay the fee if you find the park and let the Rangers know that you play Disc Golf!

For a few lucky individuals, I may be going back to the Park this Saturday and taking a few people with me!

Last night the San Marcos Community Services Commission (the group that oversees parks and rec.) voted to support the addition of a disc golf course to a city park during 2007. The exact park has not yet been decided (there are two possibilities), but it will happen. The city will provide funds to purchase baskets, etc.

The first course to be installed in San Marcos will be designed for kids, families and newbies. It will be 6 to 9 holes and pitch'n putt for most of us (or just putt'n putt), but it is necessary to start this way. There are 3 new parks in the planning stages right now, each of which could hold an 18-hole, full-length course (1 out of the 3). The city will watch how the first course goes before commiting to the larger course.

It's been a long road to get to this point. I'm looking forward to what's ahead. I will need help along the way, so be ready!

I got to be a taxi driver for my wife today. Took her up to Glendale and shot over to Oak Grove with Nevaeh Her first round ever. I hate disc golf I shot a 5 down with a firebird, blowfly, and a blowfly 2. I took a 5 on hole 2 and didn't birdie until 8. This course can be so easy but never at the Wintertime Open. :confused: :confused:

Congrats to Carlo, Emily, Glenn, Randy and Laurie - San Diego disc golfers who won their divisions this weekend at HB!! Randy closes out today with a 1009-rated round and wins a playoff!! Good shootin' all!!!

The San Marcos Day of Discovery will be held this Saturday, April 28 from 10am to 3pm at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos. About 1,000 families are expected to attend the event. There will be a variety of health and fitness booths, displays and demonstrations, as well as some food booths. The San Diego Aces have been given enough space to set up a 6-hole pitch-and-putt disc golf course for demonstration at the event. Innova has donated a box of lightweight golf discs for use on Saturday, as well as some brochures and promotional materials.

Volunteers are needed to demonstrate how to throw a disc and play disc golf, and help participants navigate the golf course. Also, we will need some additional portable baskets to set up the course. If you can (and will) volunteer and/or have a basket you can bring, please e-mail me to confirm at [email protected] Also, if anyone has a portable shade shelter that they could bring, please let me know! Setup for the event is between 7:30 and 9:00, so please bring baskets early!!

From Highway 78, travel north 3.3 miles on Twin Oaks Valley Road. Turn right on Sycamore and right into the north entrance of Walnut Grove Park.

From I-15, take the Deer Springs Road (North Escondido) exit. Head west on Deer Springs for about 2.5 miles and turn left on Sycamore and right into the north entrance of Walnut Grove Park.

Follow the signs to the unloading area and identify yourself as a participant and you will be directed to our location. Immediately after unloading, please move your vehicle to the designated parking area before returning to set up. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

This is a great opportunity to expose a lot of local residents to disc golf - please come out and help. Once the event is over at 3pm I would then like to take a group over to Montiel Park in San Marcos. Montiel Park will be the site of San Marcos� first 9-hole disc golf course. Baskets will be purchased after the beginning of the new fiscal year (July 1) and can be installed soon after. I would like to get some assistance with the design of this 9-hole course, so now�s your chance!!

Allen, you kicked butt in showing disc golf in a positive light to the community of San Marcos. Great job out there Saturday. Dave Vincent, Scot Golia, and Richard Hockaday were excellent as well. And of course AJ, Rizbette, and Monica. :)

I was asked by Snapper , to do a fundraiser / Mondo CTP for the Spring Fling tournament. I almost raised $100.00 in 30 minutes !!!!!

I had also promised some new San Diego Ace's members , I would have their shirts available at the tournament as well as some of the Entry forms for the Sun Valley Tournament !!!!

Alot going on that Day !!!!! I tried to get more players to come up from the Monthly , some were too tired to make the Drive after playing though !!!!!
