While the nights are getting longer and the days are getting crisper, the disc golf
never stops! It’s November already but there’s still lots of disc golf fun to be had
in the area. Here’s a quick recap of what’s happening.

Al “Mirth” Short hosted The 2006 Widdershins Open Glow Doubles on Saturday, October
28th at Bevier Park in Waukegan. 32 players enjoyed 36 holes (3 rounds on 12 holes)
of night glow disc golf. There were 10 pro teams and 6 amateur teams. Brett
Comincioli and Tom Schodtler shot an 83 (-25) to win in Pro. Al “Mirth” Short and
Joe “Dr. Dye” Burnett shot a 91 (-17) to win Amateur. Dr. Dye also hit the only ace
of the event on hole number 4. Nice shootin’ Joe! Thanks to Mirth for a great event
and to everyone who came out to throw.

Rule of the month
804.03 F. All players are responsible for returning their scorecards within 25
minutes after the completion of a round. Failure to do so shall result in the
assessment of two penalty throws, without a warning, to each player listed on the
late scorecard.

This one came up at IOS #7. It doesn’t matter if YOU had the card or not, the entire
group gets the penalty. So, if you aren’t walking the card into tournament central,
walk with the guy who has the card and watch them turn it in. It might save you two
penalty throws and the TDs a BIG headache!

We hope to see you out on the course (and at the club meeting)!
