Still working on a schedule for this with Mr. Duke, but I'm hoping to have it the first weekend in July. Stay tuned.

In the mean time, we need a logo for the disc and t-shirt. If you will submit your art work to me by e-mail or post it here, I will select the winner and award them a gold 20th Anniversary Aviar Putter and free entry into the tournament.

Anyone can enter, but I need digital art work, not paper. Full color or B&W is acceptable. Thanks for playing!

Chris, i got it, I'll answer tomorrow, sorry. No free travel, but you got a free place to stay and local transportation if you come :D Plus, I'll hook you up with a PYTTPO!

Seriously, if you could do a full color thing for me, that would be awesome, and I could do a CFR with it. I know you're bored down there without all us tejanos bothering you!

ozdisc

Really bored. :D

I leave to the big city tomorrow to help my friends with 1800 ultimate players for the World Club Championships. I have 9 portable baskets waiting at the airport for me to setup a temp course in the trees around the Ulitmate fields. Should be fun. Lots of international (20 countries) worth of players that want to play.

I have a few other fun things in the works as well.

No worries on trying to design a disc. Please email the details of what you want on them etc.

What is PYTTPO?

Miss you people with the funny accents. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am always here...Down Under that is.

The World Ultimate Club Championships start here in Perth today so things are busy with around 1800 people playing. I am setting up a portable 9 hole course at the side of the fields for people to try Disc Golf. We also have a few schools coming out to visit. The event is a 7 day deal so its going to be a long week. My 2 best friends here are running the show so I have to keep them in line.

Hopefully I will be able to have a design for everyone mid next week.

I promise no spacemen or kangaroo's on the design I do :D

Have a good weekend everyone.

Chris

geomy
Nov 10 2006, 08:31 PM
Honestly, the similarities are obviously there. I think the space theme better lends itself to the Tulsa tourney though (Worlds), as my spaceman says nothing to Live Oak or Summertime.

Personal critique: I'd rank my three submissions as follows: B&W, Grass & Sky, then the Astrogolfer. Brian nailed it with the "harmony" remark, I was really pleased with the way it all came together. The Grass & Sky just screams summertime (to me anyway), and the Astrogolfer, ehh. Maybe because it has been (kind of) used before.

Still waiting on Chris' design to make me look like a chump /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just sent this to the LODGA mailing list. You should join this list if you are interested in LODGA stuff.

AS many of you know, I have accepted a job in Dallas and will move from San Antonio after Easter. Because of this my involvement in LOSO and the summer league will be limited at best.

Please know that I will miss you all terribly and will always consider San Antonio as my home!

Since I am leaving, on Monday, March 26 at 5:30 pm we will have a meeting to discuss the future of LOSO, and to decide how the league will be managed. I have invited Keith Baker as he will be instrumental in LOSO and the league. This weekend I will announce the meeting as well. If you know people who do not have e-mail please call them or tell them when you see them.

If you are interested in helping out with either LOSO or the league, please attend this meeting. Opinions are great, but please be prepared to back up your opinions with hands-on help.

I will present what needs to be done to run a PDGA "B" tier tourney and offer my advice on how it is to be run. Even though running a tourney is a team effort, the bottom line is you need to have one TD who makes all the calls, and whether you like the calls or not, you must support the TD or do not get involved. Running a tourney is chaotic enough without your own staff working against you or running you down.

Laura and Jim Bob Karshis have graciously offered to host the meeting at their house in Live Oak at 7622 Antique Oak, zip 78233.

If you cannot make the meeting but want to be included in the list of helpers or staff, please email me your name and phone number directly at [email protected] and I will make sure the new TD gets the info.

Thanks again for all your support of the LODGA the past few years. The strength of this organization is based on your involvement and I know it will only get better as time goes by.

Hyzer on!

Rule 803.11 B

A player whose disc is declared lost shall receive one penalty throw. If the throw was made from the tee, the player will re-tee for the next shot. If not made from the tee, the group will determine the approximate lie from which the throw was made, and the player will throw again from that lie. In all cases the original throw plus one penalty throw shall be counted in the players score.

I will start taking entries for LOSO soon, field limited to 162 and there will be division caps. This year it will be pre-registration and pay by Friday, July 6 at 7pm. No registrations or payments will be taken Saturday as cards and hole assignments will be made Friday night. No pay by Friday, no play. Probably won't be much of a players meeting either... pick up your players package, card, read the rules and guidelines we handout, and be on your way.

We will play three courses... Live Oak Lake, Live Oak City Hall, and Brian McLain Park. Schedules will be posted soon.

If you haven't played McLain before, I suggest you get out there soon ;)

Division Caps:

54 Open, Pro Master/Grandmaster and Pro Women players;
54 Advanced Men, Advanced Women and Advanced Master/Grandmaster players;
54 Intermediate Men, Intermediate Women, Rec Men and Rec Women players. There will be short tees for these divisions.
No junior divisions will be provided.

We will try and card mostly threesomes so rounds should go quick. But come prepared for the summer heat, dress appropriately, put on your sunblock and bring plenty of liquids. If you are prone to heat stroke, do not play. If any staff member sees signs of heat stroke on any player, they will be disqualified, reimbursed their entry fee and asked to leave the course immediately. Your life is too important to risk heat stroke.

But who knows, last year we got three inches of rain in 8 hours after 5 months of drought, so bring umbrellas too!

losotd

Different people may have different symptoms and signs of heat stroke. But common symptoms and signs of heart stroke include:

high body temperature
the absence of sweating, with hot red or flushed dry skin
rapid pulse
difficulty breathing
strange behavior
hallucinations
confusion
agitation
disorientation
seizure
coma

I take this seriously guys and gals, we have come close to losing a couple of players before.

So Dave what's the buzz in S.A.? Suns in six games? I saw how Bowen kicked Stoudemire on purpose. Dirty player ;) :DNot to mention how Parker hit Nash with his head.

It's funny that he (Perez, the MAVS man) has nothing else to do now, now that his precious mavs (meant to be small case letters, denoting their small intentions in the playoffs) got beat by a number 8 seed and one that had a losing record. I don't know if the Spurs will win it all, I hope that they do, but I do know that the mavs will not.

It's funny! All of the teams that call Bruce a dirty player, would all sign him in an instant.
And how could Parker mot go down after a Nash head butt, he's a freakin' canuck!

Here's the changes we talked about...I will make a couple more variants if I need to, but thought I'd throw this up here for now.

Text facing in/out? Font choice? CAPS? Any input is good input...

I think we need to put that elementary school on there, because some people will be confused by that entrance.

Instead of Leafy Hollow, how about Shin Oak Drive from I-35 straight to HQ?

That's right, HQ needs to be on there, too.
