Tonight is the last night of the weekly minis. :mad:

The ace pot is starting at $$$1234.00 ish.

If it does not get hit tonight it rolls over to putt night.

As many of you may know VPO is upon us, and there is a very good chance that several world class disc golfers will be in attendance for next Thursdays putt night. ( let the complaining begin ) .

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everybody out there that we do this EVERY year. One thing that we pride ourselves on is the fact that you do not have to be a member to run @ our money. Anybody and everybody are welcome to come out and have fun. If you hit an ace, there should be no complaining. Same goes for putt pot money.

EVERYBODY has an equal opportunity to get that money.
If you dont bring your best game to the course, you will not be rewarded......

MOST IMPORTANT : This coming week, anybody whom chooses to do so, will have the opportunity to compete head to head with the best and brightest in our sport. Where else can you do that???? Now, we have two options, we all can come out there worried that some non-local might take home some money. Or we can relish the thought of having the chance to put up some big numbers , make some big money, and do it in the faces of all those PRO's that everybody is worried about. MAN UP. THIS IS YOUR HOME COURSE, REPRESENT. Lets show the world what we are all about............

Man I heard alot bout this course but I can't find any pic or course layout can ya'll help me out.

We are somewhat lacking the I.T. technical resources @ z-boaz as of now. But, the times they are a changing.
It is an incredible course, you should make sure and check it out when you make it back home. And please look me up when you get back to the states, I would like to play a round and buy you a beer! Is there much time to play in Iraq? Kind of a silly question.......

we should get in touch with cold toe and ask if he would come back out and take some pics. he's done it for crowley and willow creek and i'm sure plenty more...

Not fun. Personally it is my favorite night golf course, but the masses would disagree with me!

I have only played Z-boaz twice and it was not dark :D

A word from the wise, dont knock it, untill you try it!

For all of my locals out there , we need to get the course cleaned up for the North Texas Series Opener this Saturday.
As far as foliage is concerned , we need not to do any trimming on the course. Garbage, Garbage, Garbage!!! If you have adopted a hole , please make sure it is nice and tidy by Saturday. Also, some mulch migically appeared over by 14's long tee, if you want it for your hole, go get it!

Thank you everybody that has donated your time , ensuring that Z-Boaz stays one of the nicest courses in Texas. It is a thankless job, and I appreciate everybodys efforts!

FYI : We have switched from last year to doing putt night every other week. Next putt night will be Nov. 16th !

Putt night last night..... Some exciting stuff.
quick summary.....
Brad bishop went into the finals undefeated .
Jeff Davis was handed his only defeat by Brad Bishop in the
quarter finals.
Jeff Davis, being the big manly man he is , rallied back thru the losers bracket to make it to the finals. In the finals it was necessary for Jeff to defeat Brad not once but twice in the double elimination format. After a close run in the first match, jeff handed Brad his first loss of the evening . Jeff, once again being the Manly Man he is , fought thru the chilly November air to hand Brad his second loss of the evening , thus winning this weeks putt night !
Way to go Jeff Davis! Good putting from both the competitors, it was fun to watch. THE PUTT POT STILL STANDS!

Chris has been at the point for a while now...where it doesn't matter what he throws. He'd beat the regular guy with hubcaps and trash can lids at this point. Just trying to get him some support...and $$ along with some more local support for me.

Funkytown bag tags will be available for the 2007 season.
I will have them in my posession today or tomorrow. The bag tags will also tie into the formation of an official club @ the mighty z . The logistics of this venture are slowly taking shape. I have been in touch with Brian Mace and many others ( you know who you are ) in regards to this club.

So did any body get out and play today? It was a pond on 10 and 11. But the real story is that the tree that was used for crossing the creek by 15's basket is now blocking and has moved one of the stepping stones on 14's crossing. It was too big for me and a couple buddies to move, had to use the train bridge. So what is to be done? Just a heads up.

Now it is just time for the repeat. As far as I know the team will remain the same, even though some people don't think I represent the course well.

Think we could send two full teams next year so if you want to play better put your name in before it fills.

SO I went out to hole 7 this morning and used my new contraption to get the pvc out. I moved it a couplr inches up. but then my contraption broke. Back to square one. But I will make it work!!!!!!!!! :mad: :mad::mad:

I just wanted to mention some tree trimming on hole #13 at Z-boaz on the left side of the fairway. Small redbuds and mexican plum trees were butchered to about eve-level. iF ANYONE KNOWS WHO TRIMMED THIS AREA PLEASE LET BRIAN MACE, LEE LETTS OR SHAWN WOOTEN KNOW. COURSE MAINTENCE IS ONE THING BUT COURSE DESTRUCTION IS ANOTHER. NOBODY HAS CART BLANC RIGHTS TO REMOVE EVEN ONE BRANCH FROM THE COURSE, IF I CATCH YOU OR ANYONE PRUNING WITH OUT CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE MENTIONED HERE, THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY! This happen a few weeks back and any information leading to the capture or conviction of this individual will be REWARDED!

The trash was done this Sunday and the past Sunday, but hole two needs a pick up. Please everyone don't forget about your cleaning your hole that you signed up for. Its up to us to take pride in what we have! :D

I'll take any holes available or if someone wants to give one up, just let me know. I plan to spend more time at the Z than

I can tell you whom will be our biggest assets.. The players. If everybody on the course would walk off with one piece of trash, this issue would be a non issue . If you are at the course, ask somebody to pick up one piece of litter and take it away.... Simple... Many hands doing less work... As for Brian, I think the whirl wind that is his life is about to take him out on tour... Get ahold of him whilst you can...

Where is PJ's hole? Maybe him and wootang could share hole 11 instead of BB. Then shawn would show him some respect.

I will assist everywhere needed but the concentration will be at 15. I have always like this hole.

this is a party zone for a pack of ******* carpenters. we could have 10 trash cans on this hole and there would still be litter everywhere.

how about taking enough pride to realize it is a disc golf course and not a place to get drunk. you can have all the pride you want but the problem with trash isn't people volunteering to empty trash cans. you can empty them today and they will be full two days from now. it is a never ending battle that gets old real quick. the problem is that there is not enough awareness by the casuals that play there. casuals think the city takes care of that park. casuals don't know who is picking up the trash and they do not care. z boaz is going down hill everyday and all we are doing is plugging the hole but there is far too much traffic out there for our little group to keep a true handle on it. our course is one of the few courses if not the only course i have played where the city plays little to no part in the maintenance. i think the city needs to be made aware of the amount of people that play z boaz. I also think that we should bug the hell out of the city until they decide to provide better maintenance.

god you cry like a little girl. nobody even said the word hate and you can keep telling me what i think i know but I am not the enemy. i may have been a casual but I never used the course as a place to get f 'ed up. most casuals have the idea in their head that the course is for getting high or getting drunk. and woo hoo you found one family to inquire about what you were doing but that is nothing compared to all the people that play out there. what is funny to me is you act like you know everything but you try to alienate everybody that is not from the old days. take a look around there is hardly anybody left from those days. you are it. get over it and realize that the course has outgrown volunteer efforts. it is time to take that energy and demand action from the city. there is more going on in towns that are a fraction of the size of fort worth and it is shame to see a wonderful course get destroyed on a daily basis because our city officials care nothing about it.

It was many complements and multiple people asking to be part of caring for the course. Not all that play are jerks looking to just get F-up. Get out of your confort zone PJ and promote your home course and teach the newbies and bring them into the fold. Mark( aka casual) has been spreading mulch around on his spare time and was working while I was doing trash. His efforts and others are making the course every better. Don't blame everybody for the actions of a few jackarsse. :p

i have turned on plenty of newbies to the course. you know that. i only got a hundred signatures for the petition. I have emptied not just one hole but every hole on that course on plenty of occasions. I don't have the time these days to do much out there but I will say it time and time again" Do you have to pick up trash at the community golf course?" uh..... NO. Do they have to dump the trash at arlington or cedar hill? NO. i go to the course to play golf and get away from work not pick up after jackarses.

Not many understand that the city views the Z as some sort of a strange " Adopt a park " Program..

Disc golfers wanted that course put in the ground . They gave us what we wanted , under the stipulation that certain issues ( course install, maitnance, garbage ) would be the responsibility of the course locals... No other course in the merto area was established like this ..

Think about it .. We are paying for this course..... Payment in the form of garbage detail... :(

But what's done is done ... Shawn you are on the right track. PJ, you make a valid point . we will have to leave it at that , because you two are going back and forth on two different issues.....

Make this your project and do something about your concerns. Inform the city we are i need of trash cans, trash pick ups on holes that are on the course, recycle containers for glass bottles, plastic bottles, and aluminium cans. Please take this on and make it happen because trash does not pick itself up. The recycle avenue maybe an easy seller with people concern with the environment. This why cities have parks to save little niches of land for the peoples enjoyment. And nobody enjoys a trashy park, if we had more recycling avenues this might ease the trash problems. And yes we need the cities help. Gilbert should have some people for you to contact, but please plan your proposal and be the leader you can be. :cool:

Thanks for bringing that the trash is and has been our responsiblity! But the recycle avenue made be away around some of the trash woes! I could not tell you how many reycle items are in our trash cans, it's possible 80 % or more. I know everyone won't use recycle containers but this could reduce our trash efforts greatly. Recycle is the way to prosue the city and we will continue to provide the general trash pick up. :cool:

what is the ace pot at for ZBoaz on thursday and on Sunday?

All you got to do is let a few of the bums that live just north of there know that Zboaz is where they can come pick up cans. They could probably feed themselves (or drink and smoke) for weeks on the amount of cans out there.

A good example is Dolese Park in OKC, the bums are basically following the golfers around and holding out there receycling bags for you to put your empties in.

We've got enough vagrants on the course (coughandrecough)

The "Adopt-*******" program just makes trash MUCH more managable IF people actually take accountability for their hole. I would love to see the city step up, but until that happens divide and conquer is the best option I see.

The mini is on for today.. I will be sending players to their holes @ 3... The course is wet, we will move what baskets we can. If you come out, do not plan on staying dry.. There are a lot of baskets in their short positions, so the ace runs are a little better... Come get you some .!
