20 - 30 participants seems to be the average turnout for a first year women's tournament. (USWDGC & TWC are exceptions) I was a little bummed when the turnout for the Utah tournament wasn't as high as expected, but considering where we were, 18 participants was a huge success. No matter how many women play in these events, they are a huge step forward for women in the sport. I was very impressed at how many men showed up to support the women in Utah. If 10 women would have came to our event all of the work would have been worth it. I hope WDGA event and all other women only events are succesful, the sport needs more of them next year. Big or small; they are making a large impact on the sport.

If you hold it, they will come.

We've been running tournaments for 4 years. They have been well attended by the male population but about 1/2 of our women share my last name.....my sister-in-law, her 2 girls, and me. This year we had record numbers of women but still, less than 10 other women in Rec and Int. We offer both divisions on the lower day and Advanced on the upper day. We do get more women each year.

I went to TWC for the first time this year and had a blast :) I love playing at the all women's events. I also work, sometimes on the weekends so I need to plan time off ahead of time. Don't be discouraged-keep up the good work!!

I look forward to learning about other women's tourney's and will try to fit them into my work schedule.

I'll be thinking about you while I'm working the weekend of WDGA :(

Wish I could play too, but I can't take any vacation right now. I hope it's a big success.
