Met with the City today, and they are talking about Oct. 14th as the day for the Civilian/Military Tnmt. I will keep everyone posted over the next few weeks. For those that have not played this tnmt. before, It is a blast and more importantly, it is for a GREAT cause. Once I get all the particulars, I will be reserving spots for everyone.

Those of you who are committed to playing, the City would like the golfers to be at the clubhouse to register and begin warming up by 9 a.m. Currently, the ratio is about 2.5:1 which may make for a quick round of golf, but well worth it.

There are just a few slots open, so if you are interested, please send me a p.m.

Thanks

Joe

Met with the City reps. today and according to their schedule for the tnmt., lunch (Texas Roadhouse) will be served at 11 a.m. with the tee time starting approx. at 12:30 p.m.

I have just completed the scorecard, rules & regs., and the map. Because we will be eating first and playing later, you don't have to be there until 10 a.m. You can still show up earlier to warm up or help with setting up if needed.

One new wrinkle to watch out for; the City's annual "Fire Prevention Week" parade will begin at the hospital at 2 p.m. and end at the Fire Station. The route will be along, you guessed it, Shin Oak Drive. #23C will be an adventure to say the least. There may be some bleachers keeping Yoda's drive from going into the street, though. :D

Should there be any delay due to the weather, I will post as soon as possible.

Is there any kind of "bonus points" for striking a parade watcher? Or maybe striking one of the floats? Just point out which one helped get Painter out of office and I'll "buzz their tower." :D:D:D:D:D

I am in Del Rio thru Friday at Laughlin AFB, and this morning I was chosen to have my car searched at the front gate. You should have heard how many questions they asked about my discs in the trunk. They searched the whole bag, dumped my discs out went through each one. I didn't know that Champion plastic was such a security threat. It was quite funny, in hind-sight. :D

I had the same troubles at the Washington DC airport about 4 years ago and they x ray each one of my 16 disc twice

After they were convinced that me nor my discs were a threat, they wanted me to explain to them disc golf. I like introducing new people to the sport...but not at 7am, and not to people holding guns. I gave them the short version and got out of there. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
