Hey just letting everyone know a couple months in advance that
everyone is more than welcome to come down to beautiful Winona, MN (just across the MN/WI border 30 min from la crosse)
on Saturday, September 9. It will be amateur only, (although pros
are welcome to still play) non-sanctioned, two round tourney
starting around 11:00am and hopefully finishing by 4:00pm (the
course plays quick). It is a 1st annual fundraiser for the
Sugarloaf District of the Boy Scouts. There will be side games, food
tent, vendors, events for people of all ages, and a whole lot of
special hole prizes (as it is a fundraiser, prizes will be
distributed based partly on finishing place, and partly on luck.
Sponsors are being lined up and things are looking great, we hope
for a huge crowd of not only players but spectators and boy scouts,
which will be displaying some of their skills during the day on
several holes and providing spotter duty (including swimming for any
lost discs). We have the regional executive of the boy scouts
working with us, three prominent local radio personalities
(including me), and many more people with good connections. I know
the Oakwood Open is the same day in Cottage Grove,MN but if your in
the area, looking for a good time, or want to help the boy scouts
out, don't miss this tourney, alot of stuff going on in Winona that
weekend so join us. Entry fee will be at most $20 or $25 (and
includes shirt and disc). These details may change slightly as we
continue finalizing but makes plan early, this likely will book up
(probably have to cap it around 120 players)
