While the competition does not start for a few hours, this tournament has been underway for days. The graciousness of our hosts is amazing. We have been treated like royalty by Kozo Shimbo and all his staff. This is truly a once in a lifetime disc golf experience. From the wonderful accomodations to the sumptuous meals it has been unbelievable.
Please visit the Japn Open Chronicles (http://japanopen.org/) to get a glimpse of the wonderful course we are playing. This is by far the most lovely and challenging course I have ever had the honor to play.
I wish all the competitors the best of luck today. As far as I am concerned, we are all winners just for being fortunate enough to be here.
I will be watching

Suzette - why don't they have an FPM division? Not enough players? I think there's at least 4 ladies there eligible for that division.

They have an optional Masters and Grand Masters side bet, but strangely, not one for people under 40, so potentially someone Masters age could finsh 2nd, 3rd or 4th overall and make more money than the winner...I think.

This format should be considered for NTs in 2007, paying 50% of the field and optional sidebets for the over 39 players. There are more than enough A-tiers to host the older pro divisions.
ok Jay and Des time to pick up the pace. We are rooting for you here in LIIIVVVEEE OOOAAAKKKK. you always do us proud. :D

Michelle - I am in on the side bet for the Womens Masters. The side bet is offered for all divisions over 40. A Grandmaster can have two side bets, one for Masters and another for Grandmasters.
Thank goodness the weather cleared up for the second round. It is much funner to play when you can actually SEE the basket. Looks like today will be good weather for the semi-finals and finals.
