May is already here. Seems like we were just talking about snow and cold. As
more and more players come out it is our responsibility to educate new players.
If you see people throw trash on the ground tell them to pick it up. If someone
is vandalizing our courses call the police or local park district authorities.
Take the time to teach new league and tournament players the rules of the game.
Promote the PDGA and local clubs. If you are not a PDGA member we hope you
consider joining. Here is a link-> http://www.pdga.com/join/ You must be a PDGA
member to play 2007 Am Worlds in Milwaukee, WI or 2007 Pro Worlds in
Highbridge, WI.

The 2006 Illinois Open Series kicked off with a boom at UW Parkside in Kenosha,
WI. We want to thank the Parkside crew for the hard work they do on the course.
The course looked fantastic! We also want to thank all volunteers that helped
at the event. We are always looking for more helpers to make things run
smoothly. 100 players showed up on Saturday and 103 came out on Sunday for a
whopping total of 203. This was an increase of 102 players from 2005. There
were 41 intermediate, 48 advanced, and 49 recreational players. We had 69 club
members play IOS #1 taking 1st in 8 of 14 divisions. We had some big bag tag
challenges both days. Club members, we will be running tag challenges at the 6
remaining stops of the IOS so please turn in your tags. IOS #2 is on May 20th
and 21st at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard, IL. Last year IOS #2 had 140
players. Will there be over 200 like Parkside? $340.00 is rolling over to the
Saturday ace pool at Lombard. With the increase in player population we are
highly encouraging preregistration. We will keep the preregistered players up
to date on the PDGA Tour page. Cllick on the book next to the event for current
registered players. Check www.brasscash.com (http://www.brasscash.com) for all tournament information.
Series overall point totals have been updated.

Fairfield Dubs was a big success. There were 9 pro teams and 26 amateur teams
that participated in this event. $175.00 was raised for the purchase of a
practice basket. The basket has been ordered and will be installed by the
Roiund Lake Area Park District in the next few weeks. This event had a 100%
cash payout to both pro and amateur divisions. Ray Hill hit an ace on Hole #13
for $124.00. You can find results attached to one of the posts on the fourth
page of this thread->
