Just a hello to all, and a note about the Capital Cup match play tournament in Madison. There is still plenty of room and there will be a nice payout with lots of disc golf on a great course. A fun format. You can go to madcitydisc.org for the information. On a side note for the masters(pro), there will be a minium of $200 added to your purse(thanks to a vintage slide rule donated by Don Barrette, which i sold on ebay!), there will also be added cash for the open and prizes for the ams. Hope to see many of you there.

Check is in the mail. When else can you play a sactioned match play tourney. I never have played a sactioned one before it should be interesting. You better hit that thirty footer because I am 100 out and I know I am parring so if you want this hole hit that putt :D Should I tap you on the shoulder like LeBron did to Arenas right before he shot his free throws and say if you hit this putt you win this match.

Yes, that's the beauty of match play. The first year I played disc golf I played the capital cup. I learned quickly that you don't go for a putt when you don't need to. I could have laid up but went for the deuce and clunked off the basket and rolled down the hill on # 8 at Hiestand. Needless to say I didn't win that match. :p

This should make extra interesting being at Elver with a few extra holes down by the water. Possibly 6 extras to make it a 24 holer. I'll find out from house today if that is the deal or not. Last time I checked it was.

HEllo everyone, WHO IS GOING TO BE THIS YEARS MATCHPLAY CHAMPION!!! Still plenty of space, registration has been a bit slow but there has been lots of interest. I plan on adding a few holes around the water for SUnday, not sure yet about Saturday, depends on the number of players. Looks to be a good weekend as far as weather. All players will recieve a INNOVA Star disc for their player pack. There has been interest in both am masters and Pro grandmasters. I can offer these divisions as long as there are enough players. The womens division is looking pretty small so if you know any women who want to play get them out! CTPs and bonus games on Saturday, ADDED cash to open, masters, and lots of merch for the ams. WE are looking at over 100% payout for all divisions(not bad for a CX tier). Hope to see you there. Any questions email me.

So what are the final results for the Capital cup?
dthrow
May 22 2006, 08:52 AM
Hey CHris , The complete results will be posted today. There was a good turnout with 14 open players, Keith Warren winning with Pat Blake as runner up(over $1100 purse including player pack. The one and only Dave Delap bested Duster Hoffman to win GM, Sammy Juisto won Masters by beating Abby in the FInals(a nice payout for Master over 260 for 1st.(Thanks Barrette), The am masters was won by Greg H, and the amateur field was won by Ryan Johnson, with Scott Jatczak finishing second. I had 2 women play with the men and both played well. A total of 48 players. The course played well and for the most part stayed clear of rec players(Boy i had to turn a lot of unhappy rec players away, NOT a fun job. ) ANyways in my opinion the event ran quite smoothly and i hope players had fun. There was over $1000 in cash and prizes added to the purse and to cover all the costs to run the event. All players who cashed recieved over 100% payout. Thanks for all who attended and who have made this event work. MATCHPLAY is the best!! THANK YOU!!!!

Did Mike ever report the event?
discglfr
Jun 28 2006, 02:54 AM
I thought I heard that he did but it was in a format that was a little tough for the PDGA to read. Again, I THINK that's what I remember hearing about the reporting.
On a side note - that will NOT be included in the ratings just so everyone knows.
