There was a fire started on hole 10 yesterday. It looks like someone set the trash can on fire at the tee pad and it worked its way back towards the basket on hole 9. Nothing too bad happend but please be careful with your cig buds and stuff, it really stinks at the tee pad.

We played Griffin yesterday- the new benches look good- and the Tee signs were new since the last time I was out there too (been awhile though).
I did see A LOT of cig butts on the ground around the Tee's and lots of empty beer cans NEXT to garbage bins. It only take a little extra effort to keep the course clean. A lot of people work very hard on the courses, lets all do our part.

Another tee pad went in yesterday! Along with 3 more signs. Griffin will be in 300% better shape than it was during States last year. Bear in mind it is still a "work in progress". However, you should be impressed with the progress we've made. That makes 7 concrete "blue" tees. "Red" tees to follow after we get the 11 blue tees poured.
twoputtok
Apr 17 2006, 09:09 AM
Hey Chrisp, I found a portable concrete company that deals primarialy with home owners and small projects. They mix it at the time of pour and you only pay for what you use. It's a real slick operation. Even King was impressed with it. The truck can get around more places than a standard concrete truck and each pour is fresh, it hasn't set in the truck for an hour. They waived the delivery charge and to have a Saturday pour it was $94 per yard and we used a total of 18.5 yards for all 18 tees.
Just and Idea.

They should have given Coda all the money, 19 strokes????
How the hell was there only 1 person under par for this event? Was there some kind of drastic change to the course???
Was the wind blowing 80 mph???
danniestacey
May 01 2006, 07:37 PM
There were 3 people under par until the final 9. :D
If your off your game you will shoot over par. Kevin, you can test the course out at States.
Between 2005 OK States and GPO there have been 329 rounds and only 22 rounds were under par (par 55). That means that 6.6% of the rounds are under par. The course is doing its job. You must have all of the shots to be succesful on this course.
