For those that don't know, Mike Ocon is doing more to promote disc golf at all levels than anyone I know.
Mike, I am headed your way again in March for two weeks. I think I am going to work one week and be a tourist for a week. I definitely want to make your event. I noticed there is an Austrian Open and some other event in Germany. I'll send you the details as they develop

------ important information re PDGA NL election 17 november ------
can also be found at: http://web.mac.com/disctivity and

Dear Angela, Arthur, Barbara, Bas, Berend, Bert, Bob, Cees, Chris C., Chris L., Ed, Eric T., Erik S., Eveline, Floor, Frank (Liang), Frits, Gabriel, Giel, Godwin, Hans, Henk, Henry, Hubert, Jeff, Jip, Joop, Kaiser (Xia), Laurens, Marco, Mario, Marion, Mathijs, Menno, Michel O., Michiel V., Morad, Nick, Nico, Noot, Nouha, Patrick, Paul, Peter B., Peter Z., Ralph, Ren O., Ren W., Rens, Rick, Rinaldo, Rob, Ronald, Roy, Rudi, Rutger, Ruud, Sander, Scott, Sietse, Skip, Stephan, Tappy, Thijs, Ton G., Ton M. and Wouter:
Now Im back also as a PDGAer registered in NL and Im looking forward to voting for one of us, except me, to be a person to lead us and coordinate the five paths, plans and goals that will make DG a great time to help us be a part of the 2014 Winter Olympics and perhaps some other fun events and/or as simply to get together with other PDGAers to play a round of Disc Golf.
There a lot to be done in the Netherlands for DG, and we need to have continuous coordination in the PDGA, it is the general consent that Erik S. will act as temporary Country Coordinator until our election on November 17.
For the upcoming election, we have Erik S #13407 . (nominated by Michel O. #29214 ) and Gabriel #3711 (nominated by Barbara M. #28398, 2nd Peter B #28282) on the ballot so far:
__ Erik #13407 has offered this statement to the members to consider voting for him:, Als country coordinator PDGA Nederland wil ik draaipunt zijn tussen de in Nederland actieve discgolfers en de internationale organisaties zoals PDGA Europa en PDGA/ WFDF.
__ Barbara M. #28398 is nominating Gabriel #3711 because it seems clear to her, after reading Gabriels letter (Sept 2006 see www.frisbeesport.nl (http://www.frisbeesport.nl) forum) Gabriel #3711 has put a great deal of thought into coordination of DG in NL, particularly better coordination between the PDGA and the NFB.
The Country Coordinator is an important position, and the November 17 election is all about selecting a new Country Coordinator who will help the PGDA achieve our goals for the next 3 years. Some of our goals include:
- DG players able to communicate about/with players oa. www.pdga.com (http://www.pdga.com) find DISCussion click to INTERNATIONAL
- DG kaddys offer/ get-feedback on what they are doing to help players
- DG gallery events whats happening where, when, why ( other events, ie DDC, Accuracy, as well..)
- DG officials Who are the PDGA officials in NL, EU, rules, translation ( incl ec2008 proj.)
- DG Industry who is doing what, and where re materials; discs, courses, baskets,, etc
To promote the sport of disc golf in ways which will enhance the enjoyment of the game for its members and for the general public. To encourage good spirit and fellowship among all who play disc golf. To maintain an organized framework for representative government by the members of the association. To establish and maintain high standards of excellence in promoting and managing competitive disc golf events and annual championship tournaments that highlight the sport of disc golf. To communicate event results, opinions, and other information beneficial to the sport via electronic and printed media. To achieve standardization in the Rules of Play, equipment used for play, tournament formats, and all other aspects of the sport of disc golf. To educate its members and the general public on the Rules of Play and the virtues of disc golf as a recreational sporting activity. To co-operate with other organizations having common or related objectives for the good of the sport.
All nominations need to be received by November 1.
please send all nominations to:
Barbara # 28398 barbaramangan@gmail.com
Players will receive an electronic ballot as well as a paper ballot via regular post. Ballots need to be received no later than November 17. Details will be included with the paper ballot.
So folks, think about it, please put someones name on the ballot that you can say, heres a PDGA active member who do his/her best to coordinate the many aspects of DG in NL
friendly greetings,
Mike #3129 retired PDGA country-coordinator for NL

Before I write this... here's for the the 68 pdga members registered in the Netherlands: the DISCussion forum is just 'part' of the many benefits for a reasonable contribution (fee) to participate in the PDGA program. This election to support a PDGA 'Country Coordinator' can also be seen as a benefit to our sport. 8 more days of 'DISCussing' to hopefully not only elect a person to get the sanction program going, the rules in Dutch translation, decide the criteria for the people to play in the EC2008 next year (based on rating? points? former champions?, who's peaking?, etc.) but also find a way to help in some small way, so we often quote, only this in International English, many hands make light work!
