I wanted to start a thread to let the women comment on there likes/dislikes with the USWDGC. If there's something you'd like to see added or changed, let's hear it! If you thought it was perfect, mention that also.

The women and girls who hire me to be their chauffeur for this event don't post much but they talk in the van. They thought the addition of ICC in the place of Washington gave the tournament a better mix of courses.

They also appreciated having everyone play the same tees so that everyone would get ratings for every round.

For next year they would rather see two pools than a capped field. If you do two pools, please put divide the pools in such a way as to have ratings generators in each pool. If you put all the pro and advanced divisions in one pool, the intermediates and juniors won't get ratings because none of them have ratings high enough to be counted as ratings generators.

Maybe for Friday and Saturday they could do Pool A with the pros and int divisions and Pool B with the Advanced, Jrs and the rest of the am divisions. Then on Sunday they could setup a temp 18 at McNaughton and have all the women at one venue for the last day.

Jon should be posting here soon. He told me that the CD photo album is basically done and ready to send. People who got in on the ground floor initial offering will also get some kind of Super DVD thing that will run on newer DVD players. Because I'm half deaf and half stupid I did not quite understand the Super DVD thing, but if you can play it, I guess it's just super!

O.k., so Jon posted somewhere else. Anyway, if you paid for the USWDGC photo albom on CD, you should have received that and another CD that plays a slide show on your DVD player if your DVD player is the kind that plays that kind of media. If you paid for your USWDGC photo album, or were one of the intended freeloaders like Old Man or the PDGA who were supposed to get one for free, and if you have not gotten anything, contact Jon. Jon@brasscash.com works.

All of the profits from this year's production [If we take Jon's time for free, there were profits. Otherwise the thing was a big loss!] are being spent on better equipment so that next year's production can be more oriented towards video, music and narration, and less towards still shots.

I hope I am not too late in posting a reply to this, I just joined the discussion board. Anyhoo...2005 was my first year at USWDGC; and I had a blast. The best tournament I've been to thus far :) I loved the fact that we were provided lunch everyday, it was delicious too! Pizza on the last day did not sit well in my stomach during the final 9, however, but it was still good! We were provided scorekeepers for every round and that was fantastic! I agree with Bruce and the girls that the ICC course was a nice mix with the other, more open courses. Oldman and the whole crew of volunteers and the like were great as well, truley kind, genuine people which made the whole experience even better. The comraderie among the players was great, everyone had a chance to meet everyone.
I am already planning on being back in Peoria this year for 2006 and am bringing some more ladies with me this time!! 2006 will be another record year and I can't wait see all the wonderful ladies again, many thanks to Oldman, Wilbur and all the staff and volunteers!

This has been sitting idle for quite some time...there are a group of us Am INT ladies, 3-4 that are working on coming up for this tourney. We contacted the host hotel $100 a night??? If anyone can help us out, we are looking for something nearby and maybe a little cheaper. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try searching for a hotel with Travelocity.com. Use East Peoria and Morton for towns to search. You don't want to stay on the Peoria side of the river.

What is the host hotel this year?

Hello everyone,

Marshal Terry Miller is checking in! I'm really looking forward to coming back again this year to be a part of the USWDGC experience. So many women all having a such a good time over a 3 or 4 day span. It is truly something special that all women should be a part of if given the chance.

Marshaling that event last year really opened my eyes to the passion and conviction that so many women play with. It also encouraged me to stock lighter discs and be more aware of women's needs in the game of disc golf.

If you'd like to check out the write up I did from last year it's posted (http://www.pdgatour.com/2005/news/articles/a-018.php) here for all of you to review.

I am also helping out the event this year by offering ONLINE REGISTRATION (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=106) so that you may get it done quickly and easily.

If you have any other questions feel free to check out the Official USWDGC website (http://www.illinoisdiscgolf.com/womenschampionship/index.html) here.

Looking forward to exceeding the 76 competitors we had last year!

So... how long until there's a Brakel in EVERY division at the event? ;)

They keep adding divisions and we're done having babies! :D Brakels did good this year. They did a little better at the Texas Women's Championship, but the competition is a lot stiffer at the US Women's Championship.
