We implemented a club wide bag tag challenge this year (all active members get a card that is good for the year and the challenge will end Dec 31) and have had a request for something directed at the women in the club. I have concerns about doing a women's only challenge and had thought about a handicapping system (a pain to administer) that would give them a better shot at the top card. What would women out there like to see and are there any suggestions (preferably easy ones to admin)?

In Tulsa we only have a very few women (3) that play in our bag tag. We determined that anytime the women play they have a mass cahllenge against all tags. Any men the beat they can take their tag. :o

We've tried a Tag Challenge based on how you finish in the Saturday Handicap Round - got mixed responses. Maybe only once a month, that would give the better players opportunities to reclaim those low #'s.

Our tag challenge is open, any match up, but I like the notion of mass challenge, i.e. women get matched against all men given them a greater chance at a win. Have to think about that.

I've been the only female playing in an all men intermediate field and it was agreed before we started that I could play from AM pads and they played from the Pro and that was my advantage. It was fun and the guys were encouraging and supportive. (thanks Shreveport, LA)

Well, we've been doing the Handicap Tag challenge for many months now. It seems to be working like I thought it would for the most part. The first Sunday of the month is our 2-round monthly, so we decided that the Saturday before would be the Handicap Tag Challenge. Everyone with a tag is in, and how you finish in the handicap round is what tag # you get. There have been some big number swings. A couple of months ago, DeLynn went from #76 all the way to #1!!! She went back up to #72 two weeks later in a regular tag challenge round, but she was on top for a little while. It seems someone different gets the low tag every time on the Handicap Tag Challenge, so the lesser skilled (higher handicaped) players get to carry the low number tags for a few days or weeks.
