I'm sorry, I don't even know my score; I just know I passed. This is not a 'real' number, but I have the impression you need to get 21/25 or better. Hope you try, and good luck!

Feb 27 2005, 04:43 PM
You must receive five or fewer incorrect answers. This means 20 correct out of 25 questions passes. If you miss more than five, you are able to take the retest. Failure of the retest requires waiting one year before you can retake the original official's test.

Please remember that when you take the officials test, you must include rule numbers for your responses.

Hope this clears up your questions.

Thanks Matthew.
I believe one also has to STAY current, not just BE current, to avoid re-testing. Si?

estas correcto. (?)

One must maintain current PDGA membership to maintain Official's status. If you allow your membership to lapse, you must retake the Officials exam.

Claro. And that's another 4-6 weeks of waiting, wondering.

This is as good a place as any to mention if your club is a PDGA-affiliate, the test fee is waived.

I tried to be helpful, and find the link, but I just got THIS (http://www.pdga.com/rules/official.php) endless loop.

Click the link which says "Becoming a PDGA Official" and you stay on the same 'teaser' page. It DOES let you purchase a test, and rulebook for $10, however. But if you belong to a PDGA-affiliate club, the fee is waived. I know there's a copy of test #1 online somewhere; that's the method I chose.

...anybody better at searches care to help our brother out?!?

Try Jake L. He's the master of viewing search results.

The page you mention provides a link to order your test online. That is all there is. The test is sent to you via snail mail. You take the test at your leisure and send your answers back via email or snail mail.

I am not aware of a copy of any of the actual tests being available online. Definitely not on this website.

...test #1 is, or at least WAS available online last year. Then I sent the answers [with a lot of notes :D] to Joe Albert Garcia [recent El Dorado Open Champion; small world; etc.]. It was Cliff Towne who sent me the links to both the test, and Joe's contact. ;)

...I suppose this online availability could be a 'perk' available to only affiliate-club members.

Hello everyone,

Greetings to you from the sunny south. Questions concerning PDGA Officials tests can be directed to myself at the following, : [email protected] . I have currently taken over the grading of Officials exams from Joe Garcia, who handled all of this as a volunteer, thank him if you see him around.

Please let me know what I can do to make the process of becoming a PDGA Official easier.

Regards,
Matt Gillis

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

No worries Jon. :cool:It was my misinterpretation of the accepted lingo which sprung this mess...kinda funny!
