Aces happen so rarely and when they do they are so rarely videotaped. I thought I'd post a link here of a good one, and see if anyone else will post theirs. They are so fun to watch!!! (especially when they're yours) :D

Thanks for posting that! It is always fun watchin an ace. That guy was way too calm. My first ace, I was runnin around, screamin, givin high fives, and lookin like a total fool for about five minutes. Of course, my only other ace, I was much cooler. I only did all that stuff for a minute or so. :D

I never have, but I am not the one with the video camera.

Only semi-organized to tournament play, and only the first shot on a hole if more than one shot is thrown.

I don't count any Mulligan aces in my total. I don't have the time to unload my bag on every hole either. Cool to watch though, nice skip ace.

Apr 14 2004, 06:11 PM
Some people count mulligan/bag emptying aces, others don't. I personally don't. I can't even think of how many mulligan, or bag emptying aces i have. I can tell you that i have 13 first throw aces.(Stuck on lucky #13 for more than a year!)

Apr 14 2004, 06:27 PM
I dunno, man, #19 off the tree was pretty sweet! That's how I got my first ace... :p

Apr 14 2004, 06:44 PM
I don't think those 2nd attempt shots should count. I also think the shot should be at least 200 feet if it is wide open to count for an ace...No wonder Hysell has so many aces... :D

You're so full of doodie, Morgan. You claimed here (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Board=Miscellaneous&Number=47637&Searchpage=0&Main=47603&Search=true&#Post47637) on 10/23/03 at 10:45 AM that it was a 150 foot putt. If that was an ace on video, why wouldn't you have mentioned it then?!? You've also stated many times in the past that Hyzer Creek would never have any holes that short. So there's no way that's an ace, admit that it was Greg Kurtz's second or third shot.

Caught in your own web of lies.

morgan
Apr 15 2004, 10:16 AM
It was an ace, Grassy. The camera man told him to stand on a mound that would make a nice camera angle for TV, and it would look good through the trees. He didn't throw from a previous lie, he threw from a make shift tee pad on order of the camera man. He stood on a dirt mound, I measured later it was 154 feet away. On his first and only "take" for the camera, he aced it. No mulligans, no retakes, no nothing. I think that's an ace.

As for Hyzer Creek there are about 2 or 3 holes that are designed to be ace runs. But you would know if you ever got off your rump and went there to check it out.

Don't go in May it's black fly season. That's the mistake Jeff Tirella made last year and he was eaten alive without bug repellent. But you can go in May if you bring 100% DEET.

morgan
Apr 15 2004, 10:24 AM
On that note, do you know the old-time local home remedy the locals use for bug repellent during black fly season? The Adirondacks are famous for thick clouds of black flies that suck your blood in May, but the Adirondack loggers work right through without stopping, and they don't use DEET. You know what they use? Diesel fuel. Kerosine works well too. The bugs dont bite but your wife won't kiss you.

Nice opinions people. Since some of you don't think that 2nd shot aces should count, I will recount my ace total. It just went from 108 down to around 88. I can live with that. What? Practice aces don't count anymore? Then I'll drop about 50 off of my total. I'm down to the upper 30's. I overlooked the rule about aces having to be over 200ft. After an adjustment I figure I have around 25 tournament aces over 200ft. Still jealous?

sandalbagger
Apr 15 2004, 11:39 AM
2nd shot aces definitley do not count. I have 10 real aces, 10 mulligan aces, and 4 aces in incomplete rounds....So to me I have 10 aces

Chris Hysell
Apr 15 2004, 11:52 AM
Sorry but according to the new rules only tournament aces over 200ft count.

I was gonna ask, but thanks for the new total Chris. And yes, still. ;)

Chris Hysell
Apr 15 2004, 12:16 PM
And if you are in a tournament where the 1st ace wins the ace pot and you have an ace and it's not the 1st, you can't count it. Even if you get 100 aces. Sorry. The same is true for tournaments where the longest ace gets the ace pot. I'm sorry but if someone gets to make up rules, everyone gets to make up a rule. Oh yeah, only tournament aces with lids in the months of June and July count.

Apr 15 2004, 12:20 PM
****, i've hit 3 with cd's so i guess i can scratch those off of my total. :D

Apr 15 2004, 12:31 PM
Then I guess the one I got off a temporary teepad during construction doesn't count either? It WAS 5 feet shorter after all. Only 210 instead of 215, but WAIT it was over 200 ft! ****, I don't know what to do! Help me RULEMAKERS! :p

I personally think that you are a joke as a disc golfer and as a person if you count aces on 2nd, 3rd,or whatever shots. It shows that you have absolutely no integrety as a person if you count those. Anybody could go and empty their bag on a short hole and have one go in eventually. Its still not an ace.

so i'm playing doubles with some buddies, 3 groups of 2.

me and my partner are just whooping bootay (we ended up 1 stroke short of the doubles course record) anyways... he takes a video of me on the longest hole the course has, and he said, "why don't i take one of you from the side on the next hole, so you can better see your technique" i said, "nah, this should be fine"

i walk up to the tee next hole, and slam a roc into a 270ft hole.

WHY DID I SAY NO~!!?!?!?!?!?

I am not bashing it. I thought the amount of effort put into it was awesome; the only problem was you could hardly see if it was a ace or not. You barely seen them go in and it seemed timing of the release of the discs by the players was off. I don't know if that was a edit problem or not.

Well, there was an element of 'long walk for a short drink' to it,
but it's still cool and not that common to see an ace video.
Plus, the guy put a lot of time and effort in Adobe Premiere or the like making the groovy (too long) graphics.
So, thanks for posting it!
