Nov 04 2003, 11:50 AM
You may be the first to post in here, but I can guarantee you that you will never be hte last. After all I have the final word, and it is your job to write down my words and DISTRIBUTE my words. No do as I say, and quit fooling around with this caht room stuff! Did you not read the expectations of the EC?

Nov 04 2003, 03:49 PM
Funny! Aren't you supposed to be out with the P&R right now?

Secretary Ford

BTW...I got it all documented!

Nov 04 2003, 03:51 PM
OOPS! I guess you have to log-in each time you visit!

Nov 04 2003, 09:30 PM
Greetings to all ! Can I get a Homey report, pleaseeeeeeee.Good to see you're still active on the web site Jack. What new in KC land? go Chefs!!!! not much out here.Played in Vegas for the Am weekend. Did i say played, i meant sucked.City championships in a couple weeks, 4 couses ,2 days, should be fun. Drop a line if ya got the time.Say hey to all the guys.Still trying to make it out for Gary's Bday poker.probably last minute.

Nov 05 2003, 11:45 AM
Homey has been a slow breed process there Jackal......Some tensions evolved from some people that were trying to play stupidly on the course. IT is a sad affair. There is now a "pro homey based" style that is surfacing, JJ I believe has the doll, it still is passed around, but with all the high placements in the Worlds here, Buckle top 20, Pete, Corbett, Don, top 10, even Lockwood was in the top 36, they all feel that they may be too good to really be the "homey types" especially since Buckle kicked out Jamie Danger one time......

So Homey is sort of in a hibernation. It should be restarted as the winter months hit but who knows.

Just met yesterday with the P&R, was able to lock and load a contract with the City to give us rights in our parks as the main gatekeepers to the land. So we can no officially kick people off the courses as we see fit, can sell beer, and make changes without having to go through a bunch of BS.

Cliff Drive and Blue Valley will be going in VERY SOON! I would expect that we get those in within the next 3-6 months just in time for the leagues to start in my book. You should plan on heading to KC to play in the Wide Open this year Slacker!

Hows the wife and kid? Job? Drop me a note, my addy has not changed, even if I move I doubt that it would.

Nov 05 2003, 12:04 PM
Sonny, tell that Lance Plummer-guy to "move up already!"
Jack, any word on ""Dave's" '03 tourny?????" Can't miss that one!

Nov 05 2003, 02:36 PM
Hmmmm........I heard that there was a small fiasco at Swope with the Beer League from the grapevine. People shouting, yelling, and then car doors slamming, and tires squealing.....Not sure what it means......

Nov 05 2003, 03:37 PM
ODD...inquiring minds want to know!

Nov 05 2003, 04:42 PM
I would talk to that CC of Swope, the new one, he is one that let me know baout it. If you were at Ted's on Sunday you would know as well.....

Nov 06 2003, 10:38 AM
what up KC doods, secretary Ford? niiice- remember to get him flowers and watch the books! ;) Things are good in SW Florida, course has dried out some and we've been clearing much jungle rough- miss the wide open KC parks though, lotsa throwin from behind walls here, up and over type stuff, even the beginner throwers have a tomahawk or UD throw in their bag... bagtag chellenges are $2 during league- low number on card doesn't pay- helping to keep funds flowing in a smaller club... sat/sun leagues now and glow on tues night (I oredered ten LED lights from Lindy direct and they seemed to cost more than cabelly's :confused:oh well) Nice new forum here, though the skierguy forums at and seem easier to navigate... better load the fam and go play golf now, might rain later....

Nov 06 2003, 10:51 AM
good to hear from you Joe. Do you still have a forward going on for your mail? I was sending out mini's from the am worlds, and saw your name. Not sure if I remembered to pull it or not, but if you have a fwd, then it should get to you eventually.

Nov 06 2003, 06:37 PM

I finished 3rd overall in the Northern Waters Series. thats cool youre in FLA now, was hopin to play with ya at the KC Wide Open this summer, ill be makin the trip to play it this year, finally.

Nov 07 2003, 08:49 AM

Nov 07 2003, 10:13 AM
Hey Joe,

You've got United States Postal Service Mail, but we don't where to send it. Your DGWN came forwarding order on file. And we didn't send the mini as a consequence. Let me know your address at [email protected], and will send both.

Nov 07 2003, 12:41 PM
MontanaJoe! Been a while since I've heard from ya! good to hear things are going well. Yea...I'm now secretary...Got bullied into it by Jack somehow ;)

Glow's been great so far. finished -10 last week, and -7 last night (1st and 2nd respectively)...Not too bad...I've had some good partners that had sore backs on Friday though! I'm a good golfer

Nov 07 2003, 03:20 PM

Got your addy, I sent it to John, so not sure but probably Rick will get it.

Ford, I did not bully you into anything. Where is the newsletter?

Nov 07 2003, 04:22 PM

I know I didn't get bullied...just razzin' ya'.

Nov 07 2003, 04:44 PM
As much typing as we do in the chat rooms, you would think that we could put out a newlsetter more than twice a year!

Nov 19 2003, 05:35 PM
Just posting to se how many posts I have, and to prove that I stop in here once every 2 weeks.

Chap :D

Nov 19 2003, 05:36 PM

Nov 20 2003, 12:27 PM
Chap, you seemed like a 5-star kinda live it up!

Nov 20 2003, 02:39 PM
Then how come I keep on getting demoted?

One day 1 star, the next 5 star, the next no start, then 3 star, someone likes to play with my name!+

Nov 25 2003, 12:52 PM
I gave you KC boyz 5 stars cuz you deserve 'em! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
What's this I hear 'bout a 10am meeting at Ted's Dread on Sunday, Nov 30th?? Sounds like a winner, especially with the late Chiefs' game at 3:15!! :D

Dec 04 2003, 10:54 AM
well come out to Cliff Drive Doc on Sunday, 10 AM, $5/entry, $2/ace funds. We will be done intime to watch the Chiefs dimantle the Broncettes.

Dec 04 2003, 01:26 PM
If I ain't workin' or sleeping in with th' woman...I'll be there! Looking forward to 2 new courses! When'll they be permanent? What's the word with concrete tees at WyCo? I personally like the natural tees...they're much more mobile! da man! You are making a lot of serious and good stuff happen in the KC DG scene! Too bad you called out the Bengals over the Chiefs, though. Must look at it as a quality loss! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Dec 05 2003, 01:35 AM
I picked Denver over KC this weekend in my football pool just to let ya guys know. ALSO i predict that KC will lose there first playoff game this year.

Dec 05 2003, 12:44 PM
I hear no evil
I read no evil
And I definitely speak no evil (unless you pick Denver over KC )
Home field advantage through the playoffs...Super Bowl Champs!!
Just enjoying the ride!!!!!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Dec 23 2003, 04:15 AM
I may be taking a trip to the KC area in January, is there any disc golf scene in the Winter? What's the typical temperature, and which course(s) is (are) good in the Winter?

Dec 23 2003, 01:47 PM
We've got lots of dg going on all the time! Even if it snows, the Water Works glow league happens every Thursday night around 6ish, and there's leagues at Olathe at 11am, and Rosedale Downunder at 12:30pm...both on Saturdays. Give some advance notice here and perhaps some weekday slackers can join you somewhere.
Overall, if you're just gonna drop by a course in KC, I'd recommend Rosedale. It's easiest to navigate, there's 2 entirely different courses at the same park...and it gets the most you can jump in on someone's card for navigation purposes.
Go to for course directions and a place to post your anticipated dates for some DG!
Doc

Jan 03 2004, 05:02 PM
any of you KC boys goin down to the Memorial?

Jan 07 2004, 02:28 PM
Trying to work it out so I can go. About 50/50 at the moment.

Jan 13 2004, 01:38 PM
hey KC, check out my post on 11/03.. I said Denver over KC, which was a no brainer, but then i went on to say that KC will lose there first play-off game this year...... better luck next year, anyone want my predictions lemme know, its gonna cost ya though, my first 2 where free.

Apr 17 2004, 05:32 PM
Can anyone tell me the Par listing for downunder at Rosedale?

Apr 18 2004, 02:35 AM
Par for down under is 54 (par 3 holes) for any organized event - league, etc. Check out the club website ( for more about the area courses.

Jun 24 2004, 03:33 PM
Newbie here. working on my pdga/kcfdc membership and hope to meet and greet some of you soon. I live in Olathe and try to squeeze in some practice now and then. I found a treeless 9-holer on 133rd and Pflumm (California Trail H.S) that is never busy.

I want to thank the ladies of Kansas City for helping me out and inspiring me to do a ladies night in San Antonio. We have had a blast with it and more women are now playing in my area. Just wanted to say thanks to Annie, Tavish and the others. Keep up the good work.

Oct 25 2004, 03:44 PM
This happened last weekend to one of our Tulsa golfers.

after they got done tailgating

there is bad news from the Tom T kc trip. when he was at waterworks for about 15-20 minutes someone vandalized his Girlfriends car bad. not cool playing 4 or 5 holes to coming around and see a F-ing cinder block in the your windshield.

and NO ONE saw a thing.

but besides that he said the KC chiefs tailgating was fun he said.

Not Waterworks, but one of the new courses. I can't remember which one. It will amount to at least $1000 worth of damage (windshield, hood, fender, passenger side door, and dashboard). The windshield is getting fixed tomorrow, but the rest might have to wait a little while. I guess I should have just stayed back in T-Town. Kansas City can kiss my #%%$& @%#.

Oct 25 2004, 03:45 PM
Follow up post about the new course.

And the course that we played was absolutely beautiful . . . except for all of the broken glass.

Nov 04 2004, 12:13 AM
Glass? At a KC course? Nawwwww.......

Ze thread vould appear to be DEAD. Ze KC Dead Thread?

Threadsken Deadszken?

Dead I say!

Nov 04 2004, 11:25 AM
KC doesnt do much talkin here, i think they do most of it on there home page ( or sumthn like that. there awfully quite on there even, i think most of em would rather play there beutiful courses rather than talk about em on here

Nov 04 2004, 01:13 PM
I'm about the only regular Bored Contributor...and I'm injured!

Rosedale Up~Top & Downunder, Swope, Water Works, Olathe, WyCo, Cliff Drive, Blue Valley (9 holer so far) Ted's Dread (private)...and Lawrence is just 35 minutes West...

Nov 04 2004, 01:22 PM
How is that Olathe course?

I grew up in that neighborhood as a kid and played in the creek, ect,ect...but there wasn't a disc golf course back then. I can kind of guess what the holes could have been made from, but have always been curious if I should return to Olathe to shoot there.

Nov 04 2004, 01:39 PM
I've been playing since '97...and it's been fun to watch the Olathe course evolve. It gets woolier and woolier each year. A lot of smaller trees >>> now medium, many many pines=velcro... We hope to integrate a pond into the mix as we are likely to lose a few holes and expand into other parts of the park. Due to its proximity to Lawrence (where I live), it's easily my most played KC course with Monday evening leagues during the Spring/Summer/Fall...and an 11am league on Saturdays during the 'Winter months. I like it! It's cetainly not a Water Works, but is still quite challenging...forcing me to throw over things/obstacles...instead of around.

Nov 04 2004, 01:47 PM
Thanks for the update...I lived there back in the early 80s...when did that course go in?

Nov 04 2004, 02:05 PM
The Prairie Center course was in the ground in some form around 1991 I think. It got a redesign in 1999. It's a fun course to play.

Nov 06 2004, 02:47 AM

Oh. I know her. I know her well.

Let me tell you of Olathe....

She tis a giving--yet cruel--mistress...

Sometimes gentle...carassing...loving......

Soothing one into a deep, serene lullabye....

...Birds are singing...

And then, sucking your life and soul..... feasting on your flesh....lusting anew in the agony that is your wretched life, you HEATHEN FILTH...DIE, PLAYER, DIE....HA HA HA HA HA....

Oh... I know Olathe...

Anything going on around KC on the friday after thanksgiving??

I will be in town for the holiday and will be playing Prairie Center thursday with the Nephews, but wanted to play another course on Friday before heading back home on saturday.

Nov 18 2005, 11:06 AM
Steamboat, you will likely have better luck posting directly on the DISCussion there aren't too many active posters from around this neck of the woods. Weather is supposed to be great and I'm sure there will be something going on Disc Golf-wise next Friday...besides shopping!

Jul 16 2006, 06:00 AM
So, I lost my Gateway Spirit in the tree on hole #13 @ Waterworks on Friday. It's teal w/ Spirit written in black marker with all of my contact info.

If someone finds this, please PM me and return the disc. I will send two brand new discs your way.

I am comming up from arkansas to watch the chiefs/ravens game and would like to play some parks that weekend.

Any suggestions... Also a good hotel(safe & clean)close to the stadium. Have never been to kc.

Thanks, Darrell Bailey

Nov 10 2006, 02:18 PM
Chiefs-Ravens - Sunday Dec 10 @ noon

While I can't recommend a good hotel I can recommend playing some quality DG courses! Water Works and Cliff Drive (no teepads yet) should be played...and if you have time Swope, Rosedale (uptop and DownUnder, though a bit further away and on the KS side) are fairly close.
Blue Valley (11k'+) will require a guide, IMO, and is very close to the sports complex.
These are the courses that make the most sense given your criteria... Hopefully, as the time approaches, we can coordinate a tee time with someone/me, etc... Hope this helps!

The Drury Inn's not bad at I-70 and Blue Ridge Cutoff. The Clarion at the same location as the Drury, and it's a little nicer hotel I think.

Swope Park is just a few minutes from the stadium.

Nov 13 2006, 12:34 PM
Thanks ;).

Nov 13 2006, 09:37 PM
Drury Hotels ( Great chain, I haven't stayed in that particular one though. They all have internet access free, almost all have a swimming pool, all have free breakfast (more than just donuts and juice) and they're clean.
Yeah, Swope is just a few exits south on I 435 from the Drury and the stadium. Blue Valley is off the first exit north, but you'll need at least 3 hours and a guide. I think a guide will be easy enough to find if you just ask...There's really only 1 course here, WYCO, that's not within 30 minutes of the stadium, and WYCO might be 35 minutes.

Where would the Chiefs have been/be if Huard had finished the season out? Hmmmm...

Lets see.

Head coach
Off. cord.
Off. Pro bowl tackle
Green was not the same after comming back.

Atleast we won enough games to get into the playoffs.
It's been awhile .

Heck, 9-7 won div. in the NFC

DEFENCE is looking better :D

Wait till next year :D.

It's not like we went out a got a big name wide receiver and still did'nt advance to the next round :o.

Jan 14 2007, 02:50 AM
Where would the Chiefs have been/be if Huard had finished the season out? Hmmmm...

Let's see, in the playoff game, Green was 2-7 in the first half, with 5 dropped passes (Colts dropped one of the 5). Can't blame the loss on Trent. The offensive line was HORRID.

Trent's the guy next year. Then we get a big dose of Brody Croyle in 2008.

Jan 14 2007, 07:40 AM
Had we finihsed 10-6, or better...

Jan 14 2007, 12:52 PM

Feb 08 2007, 11:41 AM
The kicker's not old, and he's not that bad....gotten steadily better over the past couple of years. Yeah, he missed that short one in Indy, but there was plenty of blame to go around in that game.

Where would the Chiefs have been/be if Huard had finished the season out? Hmmmm...

Looks like we'll find out in 2008...
Green is done.

No big surprise...the only surprise to me is that they threw that much money at Huard. I guess they figure Croyle isn't ready yet, because Croyle's going to be the guy in 2008 for sure. Huard's the 2007 guy. At least at the start of the season.

I just played a round of golf at Castle Hayne Payne park in Wilmington NC(A.K.A. The Payne) with a couple of dude's named Deano and Chili. A couple of disc golfin, beer swillin dudes from KC. It was fun, they fit right in here in The North Cack. If you know them and see them tell them Fig said Whats up!

Another North Cack sighting...

I was in KC to visit my Dad this holiday season and got up with Tom Butler and Deano to play a snow round at Prairie Center in Olathe. I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate them coming out and showing me the course. We played last Saturday. Bob was out there early to shovel the tee pads, which I was also thankful for.

Cant wait to make it back out and look forward to hitting up a club event next time I'm out.

Peace for North Cack.

I believe I finished 6 over with 2 circle 5s and one circle 4 and multiple bogeys, but it was my first time playing in snow so glad I left room for improvement.

I'll be in flying in to Kansas City on the afternoon of Monday Aug 31st. If anyone is available to play a round of golf in the KC area at around 5 PM, lemme know.

Also, I'm flying out on Friday afternoon Sept 4th. If someone is off work and wanted to play somewhere Friday morning, I would be up for that too.
