Southeast & East Asia Regional Coordinator Job Opening
Position Title: Southeast & East Asia Regional Coordinator Reports to: International Director
Position Summary:
The PDGA seeks a highly organized and motivated professional for the newly created part-time position of Southeast & East Asia Regional Coordinator. This individual will organize, promote and support PDGA program activities across the region, working with established PDGA affiliated national disc golf associations and their Country Coordinators, contacts in newer to disc golf countries, and other local disc golf enthusiasts and participants.
Position responsibilities:
- Initial geographic scope: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Lao, Vietnam, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, South Korea.
- Strengthening relations and connections with national associations, clubs, TDs and players.
- Promote and process PDGA memberships.
- Promote PDGA sanctioned events and train TDs in their organization and delivery.
- Introduce new countries into the PDGA International Program.
- Identify and assess potential PDGA Marco Polo grant opportunities and projects.
- Support course installation opportunities.
- Orient countries into grassroots disc golf activities; participate in training sessions on how to play and how to
- teach disc golf basics.
- Contribute regular visual and written content to PDGA Asia social media & periodic longer articles for pdga.com
- and DiscGolfer magazine.
- Respond to day-to-day inquiries from the countries.
- Submit monthly reports to the International Director.
Qualifications:
- Position is open to PDGA members living in Southeast & East Asia.
- Familiarity with the PDGA and its International Program.
- Passion and experience playing, teaching, and organizing disc golf.
- Educational background and/or experience in Sports or Recreational Management, teaching, or related fields.
- Experience working with different cultures and communities.
- Excellent organizational, leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results and reports on time.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; local Asian languages are also an asset.
- Proficiency in using email, social media, and Microsoft Office.
- Proposal and report writing experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time independent contractor position, 8-10 hours per week (32-40+ hours/month).
- US$500 monthly wage.
- Opportunity to travel within the region.
