Disc Golf Network Adds National Tour and Major Events to Slate

Jeffersonville, VT - December 15, 2020: The Disc Golf Network (DGN), the home of live disc golf, is expanding its coverage for the 2021 season after reaching an agreement with the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). The Disc Golf Network will now include live broadcasts of the PDGA’s National Tour and 2 Majors (PDGA Pro World Championship & U.S. Women’s Championship), bringing the total number of live broadcasts to at least 21, up from 11 in 2020, for the upcoming season. 

“We’re thrilled to offer nearly double the live content in 2021 and thankful for our strong partnership with the PDGA,” said DGPT CEO & Director Jeff Spring, adding “We’re not done yet, either. We plan to continue adding to content plans for 2021 and deliver as robust a slate of live and on-demand content for subscribers as possible.”

“This agreement represents a big step forward for our partnership with the DGPT, as well the value that we are able to deliver to PDGA members and our top-tier events,” said PDGA Media Specialist Matthew Rothstein. “Since its inception, the Disc Golf Network has continuously pushed the envelope in terms of what is possible in live disc golf broadcasting and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2021.”

The Disc Golf Network is a streaming and on-demand media platform similar to Netflix or Disney+ where fans can watch disc golf content on a web browser or one of the six DGN Apps available on Roku, Amazon FireTV, and AppleTV or mobile devices (iOS or Android). The DGN App is also coming to Xbox Consoles in 2021. 

With the additional events, DGN will now have the rights to cover 12 DGPT regular-season events, 6* National Tour events, 2 PDGA Majors, and the DGPT Tour Championship. 

The DGPT previously announced a renewed agreement with SmashboxxTV and has invested in more resources for 2021 including a new studio, more cameras, and additional staff.

In addition, to live content, the Disc Golf Network will also increase its on-demand library. Subscribers will also see new benefits including a DGPT Shop discount, a community Discord channel, and free gate admission to a DGPT event of their choice. The final round broadcast will remain free, simulcasted on YouTube, and will not require a subscription. 

Starting in January 2021, the Disc Golf Network will be priced at $74.99 for an annual subscription and $9.99 for a monthly subscription. PDGA members can enjoy a 50% discount off a monthly subscription bringing the price to $4.99 per month. Those who subscribe to an annual membership before the end of 2020 can do so at a rate of $64.99. 

The 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour season begins February 25 with the Las Vegas Challenge. Disc Golf Network subscriptions can be purchased at discgolfnetwork.com
