The 2009 PDGA Disc Golf World Championships will soon be underway in Kansas City, Missouri and PDGA Media will be bringing you complete coverage all week, courtesy of Brazilian Springs Water.
The first world champions of the 2009 PDGA Disc Golf World Championships were crowned today as the Mixed Doubles and Junior Divisional Doubles competitions were contested.
The annual PDGA awards banquet and Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place during the 2009 PDGA Pro/Am Disc Golf World Championships in Kansas City Missouri.

Josh Anthon and Avery Jenkins participated in just the second playoff in disc golf world championship history. Both played incredibly all week, but it was Avery Jenkins winning the sudden death playoff on the fifth hole to complete the Jenkins' family sweep of the Open Division. Valarie won the Women's Open Division earlier to capture her third consecutive World Championship Crown.
