Each year since 1984, the PDGA has awarded Player of the Year (POY) to the top male and female Pro players and Rookie of the Year (ROY) to the top male and female Pro rookies. Until 2008, this was done by a vote of PDGA officers, touring players and other PDGA movers and shakers.
