Glass Blown Open

Glass Blown Open

The sport of disc golf has a number of cities around the United States that are worthy of the "mecca" moniker. NorCal, SoCal, Austin, Des Moines...all are great focal points for our sport, combining great courses, great clubs, and great events, into communities that have truly embraced our sport.

USDGC April Qualifiers: Atlanta Open and Glass Blown Open

Dustin Perry Turns Heads in ATL as top qualifier
A relative unknown disc golfer, Dustin Perry, made the disc golf world take notice after he took three-time US Champion Barry Schultz to the edge at the Remax Atlanta Open, and in the process wound up on top of the DGU Performance Leaderboard. Perry, 24, of Rome, Ga., not only beat his projected score at the April 16th-17th tourney, he slapped it around. Overall he finished 21 strokes below his projected, with 11 of those strokes coming in the second round when he tied the course record with a 1079-rated round under heavy winds. Look below to see how 2011 USDGC qualifying works.

In its seventh year as the Glass Blown Open and the third year as a Super Tour, the Glass Blown Open has grown in to the event that Dynamic Discs and the Emporia Disc Golf Club had always dreamed about.
