APPLING, Ga. — At 45 years old, JohnE McCray is aware that he’s not just playing against the courses at this week’s PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships. He’s also taking on Father Time.

So instead of toiling away for the last month on the pro circuit’s West Coast swing, he decamped to Georgia to get a head start on an accomplishment he’s been seeking his entire career.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the flymart that was previously scheduled to be held at Fort Gordon on Saturday is now going to take place at the International Disc Golf Center on Friday, June 23rd from 10:00am-4:00pm EDT. We apologize for this last-minute inconvenience. Please contact the 2017 Pro Worlds Tournament Director with any questions.

The ace pot stands at an estimated $1,025 and will be split amongst all players hitting an ace. The individually estimated payouts listed below will change based on the number of aces hit during the singles competition throughout the week.

Travel Info

Anyone coming to the 2017 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships by air will want to fly into Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) in Augusta, GA, ideally. Augusta Regional Airport is just a few minutes from the host hotels and only 25-30 minutes from the 2017 Pro Worlds course locations. Delta Airlines and American Airlines are the two primary carriers for AGS.

The Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce that the newly-installed Marine/Navy Course at Fort Gordon (Augusta, GA) has officially been added as the second and final course that will be used for the 2017 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships, alongside the W.R. Jackson Memorial Disc Golf Course at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, GA, just outside of Augusta.

The requirements to earn an invite to each of the three 2017 PDGA World Championships have been approved by the PDGA Board of Directors and are available online.  In an effort to reduce the number of invitees for the limited space at Worlds the invite requirements have been increased considerably for both the Pro Masters and Amateur World Championships.  The MPO/FPO World Championships is now strictly based on player ratings.

The Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce that the 2017 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships for MPO/FPO divisions will be hosted in Augusta, Georgia and North Augusta, South Carolina on June 20-25, 2017. The event will take place on the gold level WR Jackson Course at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center, and on a new gold level course to be constructed at the Hippodrome Disc Golf Complex.

PDGA Major Events are the premier national and international competitions for the sport of disc golf each year, featuring the world’s best disc golfers competing for World and National Titles in multiple skill, age, and gender-based divisions. These PDGA marquee events offer any city or town the chance to host an international sporting event in their community, drawing interest and attention to the location, and generating a significant economic impact for local businesses.

The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is pleased to announce that beginning in 2017, a new and separate Disc Golf World Championship event will be contested for all age-protected divisions. The 2017 PDGA Professional Masters Disc Golf World Championships will be held in addition to the existing PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships, which will be limited to qualified Open Professional Men and Open Professional Women players. The tournaments will continue to be sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association as PDGA Major events.
