2013 Worlds

The 2013 PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships will be broadcast on 21 Regional Sports Networks and 3 Satellite Cable providers throughout the next week.  

As part of the Beach Sports Network partnership with the PDGA, DiscGolfPlanet.tv has produced the third disc golf show of the four show schedule in which Paul McBeth defends his 2012 World Championship at the Lemon Lake Disc Golf Complex in Crown Point, Indiana.  The battle between Paige Pierce and Valarie Jenkins and upstart Ragna Bygde is also included in the show and reported on by hosts "Crazy" John Brooks and Rebecca Duffy.  

The Final Day of the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships fell nothing short of spectacular. It was a sight to see as this year’s action unfolded at Lemon Lake Park in Crown Point, Ind. 

The final nine was a challenge to take on for every competitor. It was a safari layout where swings could easily happen and leads could disappear. If the division was close, it made for an amazing show. Several of the World Champions needed these final nine holes to earn their victory. They provided the perfect stage for a picture perfect finish.

The 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships finished today at Lemon Lake Park in Crown Point, Ind. The weather throughout the entire event led to perfect conditions for championship level disc golf. It brought together the world’s absolute best players for a week long tournament to test endurance, skill, consistency and sportsmanship. It was a fine week for disc golf and a fantastic show to witness.

Another beautiful day of weather filled Crown Point, Ind. and surrounded the players of the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships with high spirits. Friday represented the final day of the Worlds competition for the majority of players. For the rest, Saturday was more than just a dream it was becoming a reality.

With three days of tournament play under their belts and only Friday to go before semi-finals, it was the day to make a move or sit back and watch the world champions get crowned. Friday also represented the day to crown the very first 2013 World Champion. 

The annual PDGA awards banquet and Disc Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place last night at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville, Indiana. The PDGA awards were based upon the 2012 season and the following winners were honored with marble obelisks in honor of their accomplishments:

Finals

The 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships continued on Thursday, August 8 with a beautiful sunrise on a cool 65 to 70 degree day. Players entered Lemon Lake Park and Hidden Lake Park with determination to make a move. For some, a hunger for the World Champion title still exists; for others it’s time to push to even make the cut. Thursday’s rounds represented a beginning to the end of the tournament for some players. It was time to make a move if sitting on the cutline bubble, or enter Friday knowing that the end is near.

Another day of beautiful weather in Crown Point, Ind. left players hungry for their second day of individual Competition at the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships. Divisional leaders from the first day required perfect play to withstand the army of competitors nipping at their heels. Some withstood the pressure on their shoulders while others struggled to hold their place on top.

With three rounds in the books for all competitors by the end of Wednesday, August 7, participants have reached the half way mark in the competition. Players have seen almost every course they will play with the exception of a select few divisions. 

Day one of individual competition is in the books at the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships. The Open Men had one round today while the majority of the remaining competitors tackled their first two rounds of the week. The leaders have been set after day one and everyone else finds themselves in the hunt for the World Champion title.

The PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships will once again be broadcast by DiscGolfPlanet.tv.  Starting on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013 at 9 am Central, DGPtv will fire up the broadcast cameras and bring you live coverage from the Lemon Lake Disc Golf complex in Crown Point, Indiana.  

Players were flying high Sunday at the Lemon Lake complex in Crown Point, Ind. as 25 teams gathered to compete in the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championship Mixed Doubles event. Through the long fairways of the Lemon Lake Blue Course they battled through two rounds of difficult disc golf on a beautiful summer day.
