The Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Ganz #21439 of Leesburg, VA as our new Technology Director. Steve replaces former IT Manager David Gentry. We sincerely thank Dave for his many years of loyal service to the association, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Steve Ganz comes to the PDGA with over 15 years of web development experience, most recently as Principal Web Developer at LinkedIn Corporation. He's worked with other high-tech companies including PayPal and McAfee.

Since first learning about the sport in 2002 at Hellyer Park in San Jose, CA, Steve has been active on the local, regional and national levels of disc golf and has volunteered hundreds of hours with the PDGA. In 2003, Steve helped develop the current online tournament administration and scoring applications used by tournament directors. As a result of this effort, Steve received the 2003 PDGA Volunteer of the Year award along with Jason Haas.

"Two of my greatest passions in life are disc golf and technology and it's long been a dream of mine to combine the two," Ganz said. "PDGA.com has been creaking under the weight of the growth of the organization for some time. For the past year, there has been a major effort underway to upgrade the underlying systems and my first order of business will be to see that effort to completion. Once that is done I look forward to a wave of innovation that will help disc golfers, tournament directors and PDGA staff spend more time focusing on this great sport and less time fighting with technology."

PDGA Executive Director Brian Graham says, "I am beyond pleased to add Steve Ganz to the staff as our new director of technology. Steve is a hard working, dedicated, and highly skilled individual and his addition to the team is sure to be an asset to the organization and its members."

Steve will work remotely from his home office in Virginia and looks forward to serving the membership and hearing from you with ideas and feedback.
