Ready? Set. Leagues!

Sunday, March 4, 2012 - 10:27

March is upon us and Spring is soon to follow. What better way to kick off spring than to start a PDGA Sanctioned League at your home course?  We are set and ready to roll in March. Is your club ready?

First thing you'll need to do is fill out a sanctioning agreement online. Once you fill this out and submit to the office you are good to go.  You will receive a confirmation letter from the office and then you will get your League TD Report spreadsheet that you will use to upload the results to the PDGA website. All International leagues will need to go through the PDGA International Director. Please contact Brian Hoeniger to get your sanctioning agreeements.

We are also offering league players a new PDGA membership discount for a limited time.  This code is for new PDGA members entering your league, not renewals.  The code is good for 30% off the regular price for a PDGA Membership.  You may provide this code to those who enter your league until March 31, 2012.  We would like the memberships to grow more than ever in support of our new league initiative. So dangle this new member discount carrot to recruit players to attend your league.  This is only valid in the US since International membership fees are different.

The code for the discount is LEAGUENEW30.

The most important factor of developing the league program is to give the PDGA member more benefit for being a member, as well as introduce the PDGA to our recreational players who like to play on a competitive level.  Get out and recruit some new members for your leagues.  If we get our members numbers up then the PDGA will have no other option to focus more time, energy, and money towards keeping the recreational players happy.

Keep in mind that this is a brand new program we are testing, so we might to run into a few snags here and there.  We hope you will be patient with us as we develop this new program. One thing to note is that we will initially be limited to 10 week leagues this 1st phase. While this is a temporary limitation, it might not necessarily a bad thing because it will actually allow us to update the ratings more quickly. We are open to suggestions if you see things that may make the program better, so your feedback is much appreciated.

When these tournaments are processed they can be found on the dedicated leagues schedule.

We're sure you'll have plenty of questions so we have provided answers for most of the frequently asked questions. If you still have questions please feel free to email Kevin McCoy anytime.

Thanks for your support and let's make 2012 the best year ever!
