Masters Cup Preview
The 2008 PDGA National Tour rolls into Santa Cruz this weekend for the Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup sponsored by the DGA. Over 150 players will be tested on the treacherous terrain of the Delaveaga Disc Golf course. Although a better name might be "the Good; the Bad; and the Ugly" - where a good drive or putt can catch a bad bounce and go bad in a hurry and sometimes get very ugly indeed.

With steep drop-offs, elevation changes, disc catching oak trees and a few baskets perched precariously close to OB, Delaveaga presents a challenge to the mental game as much as the physical. Players will need to size up their shots carefully and bring every throw they have in their bag to successfully navigate the natural (and unnatural) perils of the course.
Tournament Director 'Daviar' Thomas and the crew in Santa Cruz have no intention of taking it easy on the some of the worlds best players. "We've cranked it up to the "evil" setting and we're going to keep it there," says Daviar. "We love having these players come to Delaveaga and our goal is to give them an unforgettable disc golf experience every year."
Santa Cruz always brings out the best and this year is no exception. For the complete list of players, click here.
Prior to the tournament on Wednesday 30, Tom Schot Sports will sponsor a $50 per hole Skins Match at 1pm featuring Ken Climo, Nate Doss, Avery Jenkins and Japan Champion Manabu Kajiyama. Commemorative discs will be available for sale and autographs.
