In order to recognize this special designation, the PDGA got in touch with our 10,000th current member, Paul Kozlowitz #30624 from Missoula, Montana, and asked him a few questions:
PDGA: When did you start playing?
PK: I started playing recreationally in 1997 in Billings, MT. We made up our own little course with natural targets such as telephone poles and trashcans. I played in the 2003 Gillette Open in Gillette, WY.
PDGA: Why did you join the PDGA?
PK: Well, I taught my brother Monty how to play, and he just took off with it. He convinced me to sign up for the PDGA in order to get a player rating. I hope to take my playing a little more serious once I finish some school obligations and reach masters age.
PDGA: What do you see for the future of our sport?
PK: I see tremendous growth potential in my area. States such as Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado are primed for outdoor sports and people find out that disc golf is a relaxing and challenging game. We need to keep getting the word out!
PDGA: What are your favorite discs?
PK: A stable Roc as a driver, and a Rhyno putter.
PDGA: And what’s your favorite course?
PK: Diamond X in Billings, Montana. It’s truly an extreme course which hosted the region 7 championships this year.
As recipient of the 10,000th current member designation, Paul will receive a custom bag tag to immortalize this prestigious milestone.
